Portland State spring game

Post by JALMOND »

Just came back from the Portland State spring football game, held in 90 degree temps at Beaverton's Jesuit High School. My take, the defense is clearly ahead of the offense, stopping them on many series. Ian Sluss and Joel Sisler, both senior linebackers led the charge as well as senior safety Dean Faddis and JC transfer Dennis Fite. Freshman Sadat Sulleyman, from Ghana originally, looked good on the defensive line until he was injured near the end of the third quarter. As for the offense, Kavanaugh and McCaffrey are missed, and quarterbacks Josh Milholin and newcomer Colin Ramirez have been battling all spring. However, the one that impressed me was redshirt freshman Thomas Carter. Carter looked like Kavanaugh running around out there, and also completed a pass 30 yards on the run. No on on the running back crew looked poised to replace McCaffrey, including highly touted Maryland recruit D.J. Adams, and the receiver corps seemed to be tripping over each other. Good thing it is spring, and fall practices will definitely be interesting.

Injuries were to Sadat Sulleyman (shoulder) and Anthony Moxley (knee). Moxley looked fine at the end but Sulleyman was still favoring his shoulder.

Bullshit. PSU did not have a good spring game. And Beaverton did not hit 90 degrees. :coffee:
