Couldn't Romney's reply simply just be "Jon Corzine"?

Corzine is still bundling for Obama and bringing in huge dollars. Maybe that is where the missing money went.

Obama's Enemy List

This is why you have a skewed sense of reality, SK. You cannot tell the difference between dissent and disloyalty. If the two were the same then we would be firing and replacing half the federal workforce every 4-8 years.

I both publicly and in practice support the foreign policy directives of the State Dept, which emanate directly from the executive branch. I and all other employees of the Executive Branch remain free to make political criticisms not related to the performance of our duties or that would suggest that we would not carry out the same.

This. I think a president should rise above this type of stuff. Hell, every campaign, movement, and action group SHOULD.

BTW, Jefferson, Paine, and Franklin would proud of the fight against entrenched power too. Unfortunately, Obama rhetoric doesn't match his actions. :ohno:
I call BS on the inclusion of Jefferson in that list. Sure, he would've and did speak out publicly against entrenched power, but more often than not, it was when someone else had entrenched power. Jefferson was a quintisential politician and what he condemned in others he himself pursued for his own. He wasn't against entrenched power - he was against others having entrenched power. He was perfectly fine having that power himself.

Every time a conservative points to Jefferson as an original conservative, liberals like to reply that he owned slaves.

Virginia planters were the "entrenched power" of the day in the same respect that political donors and unions are today (of course there are more examples).

I have to admit that's a damn good point. Although world views are dramatically different today. Thank you for including the private sector in your analysis. :thumb:
