Seriously, wtf does that article prove? (and do you have a link, or did you get that from a random fucking blog as usual) Was anybody denying that there are poor people in this country, or that it is a problem??? Yeah, we get that there are poor people, and it is a big problem...

The discussion is about welfare and drug testing. If you think its unfair for those people receiving money from the government to be drug tested, then you truly are a retard. If they are being given money to support themselves, then they should have some personal accountability. I don't think its should be up to the government to subsidize their fucking drug habit. Is that really a crazy idea?? :ohno:

I personally believe that continual spending on welfare just contributes to future governmental dependency, and does not do much to foster development of those individuals to better themselves. Its a temporary reactive fix that does nothing for their futures. IMO, we need to spend more money on education and other developmental programs to help kids, better educate them, and give them some direction so that they can do something with their lives in the future.

Hey dipshit, slow down you Ritalyn-addled little kid, and read my arguments. If you're gonna test the poor, test everyone who gets a gubment check - politicians, government workers, military brass, defense contractors, civilian contractors, the fucks who got bail out money, etc....

My beef is were unfairly TARGETING THE WORKING POOR, you retarded asshole.

Jesus fucking christ, maybe Joltin Joe is right about UNI. :ohno:

Test em, I don't give a shit..

Government dependency? Are you aware there are strict limits on the amount of time someone can be on welfare, then it's cut off - FOR GOOD? For most, it's less than a year. Read up on the Personal Responsibility Act and you'll see welfare is no picnic.

There's a difference between WORKING for a government paycheck and getting a government check. And a significant percentage of those you list already ARE tested. It's a horrible, terrible burden and they all feel unfairly targeted

Too many Americans like to think the poor are "not our problem." They are dead wrong. They are our future.
They would be much less of our future if the high percentage of selfish and/or ignorant woman did not spread their legs prior to being able to support themselves in the event a pregnancy occurs.

It's not a racial issue, you moron, its a responsibility issue. And as long as we are idiotic enough to subsidize irresponsible behavior, we will see an ever-expanding recipient class supported on the backs by those of us who have consistently chosen to do the right and responsible thing.

I, for one, feel no moral nor ethical obligation to give a damn, much less my hard-earned dollars in this government wealth redistribution scheme. And I don't. And I don't give a flying fukk if that bothers you and your libtard friends.

Hey, I'm a pull yourself up by the bootstrap guy myself who also has concerns about the entitlement culture. But sticking your head in the sand, wishing all the problems away, and then continuing to bitch when they don't, ain't much of a strategy. Like it or not, the children are going to need some help along the way. And there's always going to be a certain amount of people who need help or fall through the cracks. That's called reality. Try checking it out some time. :thumb:

I am not naive, and I understand your opinion. However, we have tried for generations to "ease" the suffering of those less fortunate and less responsible.

In the process, we have merely created more of those less fortunate and less responsible.

There is nothing wrong with a social stigma for not being a productive member of society, and until we reach the day that life sucks worse for NOT being a net contributor into society, then a significant percentage of society will choose to take the low and easy road to a relatively comfortable lifestyle afforded by taxpayer dollars.

If you quit feeding the stray cat, it will learn to hunt for itself. If you quit subsidizing bastard children, there will be less of them.

Much better. I will respectfully disagree with social stigma's as self esteem and self worth are extremely motivating factors. But I also recognize that the poor have never had it so good in this country although not everyone has been or is willing to pay for that going forward.

All recipients of government aid, or state aid should have to abide by the same rules.

Goddam right, Baldy. Commander Cat and I had "Movies with Dad" night yesterday and we watched Blazing Saddles and History of the World, Part I. Had to pause them a lot and explain the historical context of many of the jokes and gags.

Funniest line from Commander Cat: "Dad, if Mel Brooks is Jewish, why does he make fun of the Jews so much?"    Very eye-opening for him. His favorite part in Blazing Saddles was the toll booth scene.
