Lynch mobs have been apart of this country for centuries and we all know whom they hunted again his heart was in the right place he wanted justice for somebody that could have been his son or nephew or cousin.
That's what the American court system is there for bro...it's the 21st century, Zimmerman deserves his day in court for this, not the court of public opinion. Its insane that its been over a month since he was killed and there is STILL new information coming out. We never really knew the whole story from the beginning, just the tidbits that the media KNEW would move the dial and get everyone sucked into this, I fell for it myself. :|

Since you're stuck somewhere in history...didn't humans originate in Africa? Thus, all original violence comes from Africans.

Human expansion to other parts of the world was just an early form of White flight. :suspicious:

Well, we can see violence everywhere...Asia, Europe, the Americas, Australia, and Antarctica too (those violent black and white orcinus orcas are vicious...and if you squint your eyes, it almost looks as if they are wearing hoodies).

Apparently we haven't been able to stomp the African-born violence out of our bloodlines despite the invention of Twinkies and Barry Manilow music. We're all thugs deep down inside. :ohno:

Yup... there's enough scrutiny on this issue now, and enough government entities peering into it, that the fact that Zimmerman hasn't been charged as yet is very telling- as in there probably isn't sufficient evidence to charge him with anything... either that or they're just making damned sure before they do, although I'm inclined to believe the former is the case.

On another lighter note... is it just me or does it appear that all the same folks who thought OJ was innocent think Zimmerman is guilty???? :?

Even over here in Vietnam, the Asian CNN is running human interest stories on this kid. It reminds me of when I was a cop in Charleston. Every time some thug got whacked by one of his buddies, Live 5 News was like CLOCKWORK interviewing the family of the dearly departed. The common theme: he was a good boy, he wasn't a criminal (Trayvon doesn't appear to have been much of a rapsheet) he was always good and kind to his momma and his friends, he was quiet, he wrote poetry, he was working on his GED, etc etc.

Usually these guys were known to us, and seeing the human interest stories in the TV media and newspapers afterwards you sort of had to hold your nose. I don't know much about this particular kid (I have started changing channels when it comes up on TV) but the stories I have seen are like deja vu all over again.

I have noticed that the common theme of police corruption/incompetence have crept into the narrative now that more "facts" are starting to come out about what possibly happened leading up to the shooting.

NBC broadcast on Today Show altered Zimmerman 9/11 call. :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

"NBC told this blog today that it would investigate its handling of a piece on the “Today” show that ham-handedly abridged the conversation between George Zimmerman and a dispatcher in the moments before the death of Trayvon Martin. A statement from NBC:

“We have launched an internal investigation into the editorial process surrounding this particular story.”
Great news right there. As exposed by Fox News and media watchdog site NewsBusters, the “Today” segment took this approach to a key part of the dispatcher call:

Zimmerman: This guy looks like he’s up to no good. He looks black.

Here’s how the actual conversation went down:

Zimmerman: This guy looks like he’s up to no good. Or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around, looking about.

Dispatcher: OK, and this guy — is he black, white or Hispanic?

Zimmerman: He looks black.

The difference between what “Today” put on its air and the actual tape? Complete: In the “Today” version, Zimmerman volunteered that this person “looks black,” a sequence of events that would more readily paint Zimmerman as a racial profiler. In reality’s version, Zimmerman simply answered a question about the race of the person whom he was reporting to the police. Nothing prejudicial at all in responding to such an inquiry.

In an appearance on Fox News’s “Hannity,” Brent Bozell, president of the conservative Media Research Center, called this elision on the part of ”Today” an “all-out falsehood” — not just a distortion or misrepresentation.

And it’s a falsehood with repercussions. Much of the public discussion over the past week has settled on how conflicting facts and interpretations call into question whether Zimmerman acted justifiably or criminally. That’s a process that’ll continue. But one set of facts in the is ironclad, and that’s the back-and-forth between Zimmerman and the dispatcher. To portray that exchange in a way that wrongs Zimmerman is high editorial malpractice well worthy of the investigation that NBC is now mounting.

"Neighbor defends George Zimmerman

TAMPA - One of George Zimmerman's neighbors is speaking out, saying looks can be deceiving.

Despite booking video from the Sanford Police Department that many say shows George Zimmerman largely unscathed from his encounter with Trayvon Martin, the neighbor said he saw Zimmerman with obvious injuries.

The neighbor is talking for the first time about what he saw on George Zimmerman's face less than 24-hours after Zimmerman shot and killed Trayvon Martin.

"I saw George. He was banged up. His head had two big bandages, that weren't flat, had a bump on them," the neighbor, who did not want to be identified, said.

He described where the injuries were.

"I seen him have a big bandage on his nose and his nose swollen. On the side, where his eyes were at, it was swollen," he said.

He points out exactly where on a picture.

"I seen the bandage right here, and this side of his nose and this side of his nose was swollen.

The surveillance video was released by Sanford police of Zimmerman when he was brought in for questioning after the shooting. Bruises and bandages aren't visible, but you can see an officer looking at the back of his head.

"Once you get into a fight you don't show bruises that day, it shows the next day," he said.

The neighbor says Zimmerman had to have acted in self-defense.

"I think something happened that night where he had to defend himself," the neighbor said.

He says that the voice heard screaming on the 911 call is that of George Zimmerman.

"I hear his voice every single day, I talk to him every single day," he said.

He says the case has haunted him.

"I've been thinking about it morning noon and night ever since I seen the bandages on him," he said.

He believes Zimmerman was defending his life, and that's why he's defending Zimmerman now. He says he doesn't believe race played a role in what happened.

"I don't think race is involved at all, because I've seen black, African-American folks come to George's house," he said.

The neighbor says he's tired of Zimmerman being portrayed as the bad guy.

"Everyone needs to let the justice system take its course before rushing to judgment," he said. "

I love how all my liberal facebook friends have taken down their initial wall posts castigating Zimmerman and the police.

If it is important enough to say in the first place, then you need to own it when you are wrong, don't delete your posts like a flapping twat.

Authorities should either charge Zimmerman or explain in detail why they aren't charging him. The current battle for public opinion is a lose - lose for everyone.

I think it is entertaining watching people (on both sides of the issue) out do each other trying to look stupid, but the uninformed opinions based on partial, leaked, and sometimes erroneous information isn't helping anyone.
