Now the question becomes, how many of the assistant coaches are gone, and how many incoming recruits are gone.

Given that this is happening in the middle of spring ball, something smells rather fishy to me, particularly given the success the Griz have experienced since Pflugrad took over. From all reports I've heard, he's run a relatively clean program as well. Until further word comes out, this has the feel of an internal power play. Of course, that's just speculation on my part until the "real" word comes out. Rumors are flying on FB that this is related to some alleged rapes. I'm not sure if or when those occurred, but if they just happened and this is a knee-jerk reaction before the coaching staff and AD had a chance to deal with it, then there's something wrong in the university's leadership.

This does NOT bode well for athletics in general. Hopefully they can get someone to right the ship QUICK.

What do you mean "clean" program? I seem to remember a new allegation against the football program on a monthly basis...rapes, DUI, assualt against a peace keeper, etc... all of that resulted in very little (if any) disciplinary action.


I'm willing to bet there is a fuck ton more to this than you, I, or anyone knows/wants to believe. Universities don't just fire ADs/HFBC for the fuck of it.

I'm going to bet it has to do with the 5 DUI charges in the last 18 months that Griz football players were cited for.

As well as all of the sexual assault cases, assulting police officer charges, players biting the hell out of girls legs, etc.... and how the university provided them with "legal counsel" vs how they are allowed too and how they gave it out vs the standard student at UM.

I second this. I know I don't like all the stuff coming out of Missoula right now but I'm not so sure they can fire the coach and AD for what someone else does. Believe me, my 22yo daughter is going to attend there this fall, I DON"T LIKE that shit but it isn't like Phlu did the driving or assaulting and I don't think he would condone it, or I certainly hope to hell he didn't. If he or anyone on the staff all the way to the president condoned it and swept it under the rug, they should all see a pink slip. I think the damn board should send a message next and fire the rest on up to the top and really clean house.
