We need a political "do not call" list

not really... we'll call up to 3 times/day until you answer. Every. Single. Day. He's been targeted for a reason. He fits somebodies campaign model of a "likely voter"

I think I got one of those fuckers calling me for Rehberg or Tester. They can call 87 times a day, if I don't recognize the # I wont answer it.

depending on the set up they might not realize how often they are calling.

We use predictive dialers sometimes - every once in awhile it gets caught in a loop and keeps calling same house over and over... it rarely happens... but every once in awhile.

Also - I'm certain you have someone calling you in the Rehberg/Tester race... a lot of $ and staff on that race.

As a registered R, I get no calls from Dems and very few from the GOP. The former don't bother, and the latter take my vote for granted. Suits me.

I actually got a Robo-call yesterday where the recorded voice started by saying, "I know you're getting tired of getting these calls but you've GOT to listen to this one..."

I didn't.

But the primary election here is over now so peace has returned.

How were you able to not listen to the call without the government stepping in and making that decision for you?

Giving you a phone call isn't anywhere near the same thing as standing in front of your house screaming into a bullhorn all night so you can't sleep.

If phone calls make you angry... disconnect your phone line. Don't whine about the governement not stepping in to regulate who can call you.

You're an old dude, though... so, I'm assuming you have some irrational attachment to your landline and disconnecting it isn't an option.

I'll play devil's advocate. So if someone is making harassing phone calls to you your saying you have no recourse through the govt?

You know what I'm talking about. Election time comes and the phone rings every few minutes with a political call. It's that time now in Louisiana with the Republican primary. STOP already!

We really do need a list we can get on where political campaigns are NOT allowed to call us.

Being in battleground PA almost a decade have had to deal with this. The only reason I have a landline is because I have an alarm system that requires it. Otherwise, I wouldn't have a landline.

Options:
-unplug phone
-hang up (did this some in 04')
-ignore it (what I did in 04' & 06')
-turn off ringer (what I did in 08')
-An option for any humans, which will be painful for them:
