The Etch-a-Sketch

Post by dbackjon »

This week, the child's toy Etch-a-Sketch grabbed center stage in the political debate
Romney adviser Eric Fehrnstrom is not overly concerned, though. On Wednesday, he expressed confidence the campaign would hit the "reset button" after the nomination and redraw Romney as a moderate candidate.

"Everything changes," he explained on CNN, "It's almost like an Etch A Sketch. You can kind of shake it up and we start all over again."
http://www.cnn.com/2012/03/23/opinion/w ... index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This confirms the flip-flop nature of Romney. His campaign has tried to spin the comment, to no avail.

But Etch-A-Sketch provides another hurdle for Romney to overcome.
In 2003, Ohio Arts, makers of Etch-A-Sketch, closed the Ohio factory where they had been made, laying off 100 workers, and moved production to China. Ohio Arts cited pricing pressures from retailers such as Wal-mart and Toy-R-Us as the reason for the move.

Toys-R-Us is owned by...wait for it...BAIN CAPITAL - headed by none other than ol Mitt himself...

Romney is good at job creation - in CHINA!!

Problem with the Republican party is that the far right has grown so much in the last few years that their members need to pander to those people to get the nomination, but when it comes to the general election, they need the independent vote to win and most of those people are moderates. Until Republicans can establish a middle ground withing the ideals of their own party, they're not gonna make a lot of headway this November.

I don't know what's more funny, jon's spine separating overreach or your "explanation" of the "far-right", and failure to compare it to the "far-left" whack jobs.

This is not newsworthy. Someone on his campaign said this, not the actual candidate. This is proof that there is nothing of substance that the media or Rick Santorum can comment on at the moment.

Just wait until Rick suggests that Lousiana residents replace France with England inthier history, so that we canbe a more unified country.

And i'm not evena fan of Romney. Stop this bullshit and focus on the real issues.

This will be forgotten just like when Clinton gave the Chinese made "Reset button" to Russia.

No shit. Lots of words are not allowed to be said/posted on the internet in China.

My respect for Romney just went up a bit. Any bozo knows that running for the nomination of either major party and campaigning for the general election are two completely different ball games. Glad there is someone who can at least man up and speak the truth instead of pretending to be running on principle.

And LoL at Santorum for getting all self-righteous over this. Bet you Santorum wouldn't even mention the words "birth control" in the general election campaign.

Right, the way you campaign against your fellow Republicans is different then campaiging against the incumbent President. In the words of Santorum "That's bullshit!". Talk about a gaffe, holier than thou Rick cussin like that AND THEN SAYING IT WAS ACCEPTABLE!

Unfortunate analogy, but one sound bite shouldn't affect the outcome. People will vote for Romney or not, whether they think he's a flip-flopper or not.

By the way, etch-a sketch machines aren't foolproof. As they get older, more of the magnetized dust sticks. ;)
