Donks in '06-'08: High gas prices are Bush's fault

Post by BDKJMU »

Well, what's good for the goose is good for the gander. So if the donks were right then, then the high gas prices are Obama's fault now.

Of course they are, Bunko. He very well CAN do things to lower gas prices, but, like W, he is walking a tightrope. Whatever he does, he will take flak from the Left and the Wrong. And, whether you like it or not, at least he is taking a stand (Keystone, ANWR), bitch.

And the world has changed in the interim, as it is apt to do.

Would you have us leave Iran alone? Speculators love the tension and, as demonstrated here, speculating on oil is way COOL!!!

I started printing these and taping to gas pumps just to let customers know that Obama did keep one promise

Even when it was Obama's plan, it is not Obama's fault. Nothing will ever be Obama's fault according to his Democrat fanboys.

He better hope gas doesn't approach $5 because if it does, he will be extremely vulnerable.

He's vulnerable if its $4 late summer/early fall (it's at $3.65 now). If it hits $5 then he is done, no matter who the Republican nominee is, as that would end this anemic economic recovery and send it right back into recession with unemployment back near or above 10%. Remember, it isn't just gas in your tank & more expensive airline tickets. It will jack up the price of most goods & services. Food- tractors & combines run on gas/diesel & are trucked to market. Clothing, literally everything you buy that is shipped to market. There's hundreds of everyday petroleum based products. You'll see businesses institute fuel surcharges galore. The tipping point is probably closer to $4 than it is to $5.

Would you rather have low gas prices or republican president?

The harm of high oil prices (if they remained high $4 ballpark or higher for only around 6-8 months) would be preferable to the much longer term harm of 4 more years of Obama.

I don't think he would be done if that dunce Santorum was the nominee, gas could be $10 and he'd still babble about social issues.

The #1 concern of the majority of independents/moderates who will swing the election is the economy. What the republican nominee says about the social issues that the media and people on here are making the big deal about is secondary. They are going to care what he says about the economy, the economy, the economy. Which of the 2 will be better for the economy? That will decide the election.
