Linsanity 2012 is officially here with breakout NBA star Jeremy Lin taking center stage in the pro basketball world. He's been playing great, and most of all, the Knicks are winning. With his on-court play and unselfish demeanor, the Knicks are blessed to have good point guard along side their two star Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire.

He is not a star, not even a "good point guard", just plays for a coach who has no choice but to play him. No other coach would put up with averaging 7 turnovers a game (most teams try not to have that many in a game). Felton thrived in D'Antoni's system, yet has been lost since moving on to Denver and now Portland, due to a lack of fundamentals and constant turnover problems. Nash is the only point guard from D'Antoni's system to truly become a point guard elsewhere.

The only thing that has people talking about him is that he has a perception of achieving a certain level of success, things that are magnified ten times over in the New York market, good or bad.

It would be a first, definitely. The thing about the Knicks is that they are trying so hard to be a playoff team, yet keep falling flat on their face. Amare was supposed to lead them to greatness and that was splattered all over the country. Then Melo was supposed to come in and get them there. Now Lin is supposed to be some type of superstar who Chalmers exposed as very ordinary (and Chalmers is not going to make many all-defensive teams anytime soon). Any other .500 and sub .500 teams disappear from the national stage, yet the Knicks with all their problems are always right there, good or bad.

Keep in mind that Dan Dickau had some good games in the NBA as well. No one has ever heard of him, right?

Well he no longer has D'Antoni as a ally he turn in his resignation before they played Portland.
