What did EWU do this year, post NC season?? 5-6 or 6-5.....

Bison should make another NC run this coming year.
Operative word. So SHOULD have EWU....but that darned injury bug that can't be quantified....
Injuries are part of the game. The Bison had plenty of them this year but the back-ups stepped up and played pretty well.

Injuries are one thing. Losing your entire starting offensive line (and in some cases, the 2ND string as well) is different.

These guys can post all the picutres they want of their schools greatest moments. Darell can brag about it between discussions of moral victories and his what-ifs. What these things all have in common is the fact that a win over NDSU is a huge win. Often, as in the case of EWU and UND, the biggest wins in their programs history. We know this because sometimes, years after the victory, those fans will continue to brag about it.

Just remember its not those programs that are national champions, The BISON are. Its not those programs that have grown and prospered, NDSU has. Its not those programs that have huge upside potential that is now being tapped by the BCS/FBS. Those calls are coming into the prestigious and luxurious offices of the NDSU Sports Conglomerate deep under the stands at the nations beloved and insanely popular Fabulous Fargo Dome.

You win and you lose but NDSU even wins when it loses because of the pride felt by those schools as they realize it was probably the biggest win in their schools history. As the years go by and they continue to brag about the big win NDSU benefits because everyone is reminded how good the BISON are, what a great tradition NDSU has and truly what a great win it was for your program.

The BISON are the biggest game on your schedule this year, last year and any year for that matter.

Its going to be interesting to see how the Gopher fans react when Minnesota finally upends the Herd.

Don't remind me...... ;)

One nice thing about this coming season is there won't be the target on our backs, kinda like the Griz in 2011, and they did pretty well coming off of a 7-4 season. And there's no way we'll sustain tht number of injuries again this season, so I think we'll be alright.

You are correct JBB. UND beating NDSU was big in our history. Not because NDSU was good...but because NDSU was our rival. We played for the Nickel Trophy and before the nickel was played prior to 1937 NDSU was a big win in our program. Whenever we resume the rivalry and the Nickel won't be there beating NDSU will still be big...because you are our rival. 80 miles separate the schools the state is cut in half one for UND and the other for NDSU. I am glad you have pride in losing (your quote sounded like Rocky Hager), keep thinking good thoughts for your school. :thumb:

Whatever, darell. You know damn well that when a person yells "sioux suck" they mean the athletic team not the Indian nation.

The whole nickname issue has become a complete joke and the Big Sky should kick UND out. This is too much baggage for the conference. The hockey only fans are the problem in this.

Tell that to the Indians that used that excuse to get rid of the name..well before the NCAA settlement of 2007. And since UND is not the Sioux (except for this 2 months because of the petitions) there is no reason to yell out Sioux suck. I don't go around saying the Farmers Suck, the Aggies Suck, the Ag College Sucks. Its not your name is it.

No, Darell a student saying that is not like a head coach calling a school a bunch of racist blowhards. Its not the reason the NCAA intervened, but the T shirt of an Indian Brave having intercourse with a buffalo was, and the sammy sioux images and everything else were sure part of it too. You cant point to one thing Darell its the entire setup. The NCAA didnt point to one thing, they claimed a hostile and abusive atmosphere existed on campus because of the nickname.

A head coach calling another school a bunch of blow hard racists is just a symptom of the problem UND has. The NCAA was smart enough to recognize this and have taken steps to help UND out. Its also gratifying to know that the head coach that made that despicable remark has been fired, under cover of course, but out the door on cue none-the-less.

A second piece of evidence there is a hostile and abusive atmosphere on the UND campus comes from a potential recruit that turned UND down in favor of Wisonsin Whitewater:
http://www.bisonville.com/forum/showthread.php?27137-Toe-to-Toe-with-Whitewater wrote:If the school didnt suck they maybe coulda pulled this one out

http://royalpurplenews.com/?p=5761" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

For Devin Cramer, choosing UW-Whitewater came easy, even though he passed up an offer from a Division-I school.

Cramer, who started at UW-Whitewater this spring, attended the IMG Madden Football Academy for one semester after graduating last spring from Sarasota High School in Florida.

The academy, which is held in Florida, is a training and academic facility that attracts athletes of any age to ready them for the next level.

Cramer said he decided to attend the academy for a semester because he felt like he had a good chance to walk on somewhere.

“I went up there and I didn’t like the school (University of North Dakota),” Cramer said. “I liked the football portion, but I just didn’t like the school. I came to Whitewater and I liked it because of the college town atmosphere.”

Its time to get this thread back on track. Darell, why dont you just start a thread about UND instead of taking every thread down with your UND talk? You embarrass your fan base, like brock said. This thread is about NDSU Football, the Big Games coming and of course the future of NDSU football, everybodys big game, just like Darell said!

Being the focus of college football in the Dakotas gives the average NDSU fan a unique perspective. The most important associations are of course with the other members of the Dakota Big 3.
The Dakota Big 3: NDSU, SDSU and USD,
The NDSU BISON are currently the best of the big 3, making them the best football team in the Dakotas, and of course national champions. This is a wonderful group representing the Dakotas very well and providing all college football fans with the excitement of the competition for best college football team in the Dakotas.

Its that terrific competition, high visibility in the MVFC and the big wins in the FCS, BCS and FBS including the national championship that are gaining national attention for NDSU. Add in the amazing traveling fan base and of course the phone is ringing off the hook.

Watching this unfold is also a great opportunity for fans from other schools to see how the NDSU Scheduling Model serves the program so well.
Dear Lord, We come before you and humbly ask you to grant our prayer for a veil of protection to be placed over Donald Trump. May your will be done. In Jesus name we pray. Amen

Theres nothing wrong with those two going out together is there?

The talk is now shifting to a UND game in Fargo and away from an away game at OK or Pitt or even FSU. The UND game is a bad move. There is no reason in the world to fund their program by the huge publicity lift of playing the BISON in the nations beloved and prestigious insanely popular Fabulous Fargo Dome.

I cant see any multi-game deal favoring NDSU. Any single game contract should be in line with any regional team. Robert Morris money less air travel and lodging. They can drive down game day in Suburbans or even some buses if the hockey team will let them.

Its good to be champions

 What a hater.

UND is part of the college football landscape. They are recruiting against the best when they go toe-to-toe with Whitewater Wisconsin. They have been putting on the passive/aggresive act for a football game with the National Champion NDSU BISON since they quit the series back in the old days. Now they want to play? Of course, who doesnt want to play at the nations beloved, prestigious and insanely popular Fabulous Fargo Dome? Even Montana called!
Things are moving fast. Reliable sources are now reporting intense negotiations with The Nebraska Corn Husker group. If it pulls off apparently the game would be in Lincoln.

EWU did not have 3 victories in any year bigger than the NDSU victory, you are just saying that as a matter of your own perspective, which is decidedly anti-NDSU BISON. Furthermore the NDSU BISON football victory over the montana griz is a matter of record. I dont know what you are whinning about, especially on this thread celebrating the ascension of the NDSU BISON to the top of the FCS football world and the excitement for all FCS fans watching The BISON Scheduling strategy unfold before their very eyes.

You are the ONLY one on this board who continually creams his jeans over a meaningless victory 9 years ago. The Eagles Beat UM, Villanova and Delaware in 2010---ALL three bigger victories than their meaningless quarterfinal mudstomping of your bison.

You are the only one continuously whining---about some pathetic, meaningless "championship banner", about all the "haters", etc., etc.

And the only important thing that's a matter of record is that you have single-handedly turned an entire nation of FCS fans against a team that some of us would LIKE to like, but simply can't because of simpletons like yourself who've infected and ruined an entire fanbase.

I'm sorry you feel that way. A simple mind in my opinion is one that cannot differentiate and becomes prejudicial. We were never taught prejudice but it appears you were?
Are you ready now to turn back to the subject at hand: The 11th game on the NDSU schedule.
the rumors so far have a decidedly FBS air to them. Most of the speculation on this game concerns possible FBS/BCS opponents. Of course the Big 10 Nebraska Corn Huskers is the best game from a publicity standpoint. Right in the heart of the central USA and right in the heart of Football, Big 10, FBS and BCS.

Its a dream game right out of the NDSU scheduling Model. The high-lighted scheduling principal is this:

Are you saying my people wasted their time and money when they celebrated the runner-up by providing me with sponsorship rights? Are you saying you and others dont hate?

The important thing, and its something I think you lose track of, is the unfilled 11th game on the NDSU schedule. Its almost certainly going to be and FBS game. I believe the only FCS team left with the same open date is an Idaho team. All other FCS games will take some shuffling.
