Yeah, it worked out pretty well last time we outlawed booze. :dunce:
Did I say we should? :dunce:

Yup, and if we went that route, crack addicts are content with even less. Just a group house to lay around in is all they need.

Perfect logic. Once again, I'm convinced. Legalize crack. :thumb:

I think it goes deeper than that. If pot was legalized, our collective productivity will plummet. People who smoke are content with much less versus the over-caffeinated, soulless drones who produce massive profits for the owners of our nation. Consumer spending will drop off a cliff, then our economy, then our government. That's really the "evil" fucks like Tman and Richard Nixon were talking about. The stakes are high and that's why it's illegal.

Ultimately we are going to have to slow down. There is no way this planet can handle more pathological consumers.
Nah, any drop in any part of the consumer spending spectrum would be more than offset in the increased sell of twinkies and doritoes. And Whitecastles.

On behalf of all High School seniors and students everywhere I must say the following:

Making any drug illegal or putting an age requirement(at least a high one like 21) on said drug will not stop us from attempting from partaking in said drug, so for the sake of safety and transparency it's best if government officials and parents recognized that fact . The world would be better. A lot of kids get in trouble for drinking at parties (not necessarily getting drunk, just having a drink or two) and it ruins their future by ways of financial aid for college and other means. Granted illegal behavior should be punished, but one should not be punished just for having a substance in their body and not engaging in criminal behavior otherwise. Teenagers with parents who understand that teenagers will be teenagers and will do such things stand a better chance of keeping those teenagers out of trouble, but a lot of parents being the law and order type don't want their child engaging in such behavior--and that causes more problems.

I dont think many people doubt this, but in order to be taken seriously, you need to take the word "parents" out of there. Until a kid is emancipated, the parents have the ultimate say. If your folks think you are not yet mature enough to drive, not old enough to stay out overnight, then that is their prerogative. The same goes for the spliff.

But it does SEVERLY deminish the use. The reason alcohol is used so much by underage kids is because it is EASY to obtain. I can't believe for a second that you would think if a drug were made legal that the use of that drug wouldn't become widespread.

From my experience, it doesn't. For me, pot is as easy to get as alcohol.

And what's even worse is that when I was in college, weed was actually easier to get than alcohol.

Alcohol is not the same as pot. People can function, and yes, drive a car just fine while high.

If someone was Tboned by a stoner, it would have happened in a steak house or the car would have be going 2-3 MPH in the parking lot of a Sonic Burger.

While it might seem obvious, researchers Mark Asbridge, Jill A. Hayden and Jennifer L. Cartwright took the trouble to scientifically conclude that “acute cannabis consumption is associated with an increased risk of a motor vehicle crash, especially for fatal collisions.” They report their findings in the British Medical Journal – here’s the abstract:
I do think there needs to be some laws for its consumption and driving a vehicle. With that being said, I do wonder what qualifies as "acute" in the study.

I am all for the legalization of pot.

pot's illegal in South Carolina in all forms. I guarantee you that I could obtain said substance in the next 5 minutes if I wanted to. I know at least 2 or 3 people who could supply me. If you know the right people, it's not hard to find.

I missed this earlier. My posting of that picture was to disagree with your claim that people wouldn't smoke pot outside of their living rooms if it were legal. Pot is legal in Amsterdam and they have coffee shops where you can smoke it. Of course people are still going to smoke in their living rooms, but to claim they wouldn't smoke in other places if it were legal is pure folly.

You're right, Hen. I would submit, though, that the incidence of them taking to the road on a "pot bender" is much less prevalent then those taking to the road with alcohol in their system.

Have you ever smoked pot, Hen? Seriously.

Just institute something similar to open container laws. Pretty simple.

We won't know until pot has been legal for a while. If it were legalized tomorrow, it's use would of course be less prevalent than alcohol for probably a long time... maybe a few generations. That said, I think you'd admit that the occurance of pot related DUI would dramatically increase immediately.

Me? Of course I have.
