I have always been in favor of complete and total legalization.

I could care less what it does to the abuse or addiction rate. If the abuse/addiction rate goes down, no problem. If the abuse rate goes up and loads of crackheads die, that's fine too.

However, I don't want to be paying for Joe Douchebag's heart transplant because he couldn't stay off the pipe.

Personally, I like the idea of legalized narcotics, because the idea of Cappy and D bitching and moaning about the taxes making a pack of ganja cigarettes cost $40 a pack is just too delicious to contemplate.

Not criminal problems Clenz, all health problems. Remove the stigma surrounding treatment and threat of incarceration for use and you can turn more of these people into clean cut, productive members of society. Probably start voting conk too.

Never mind taking the profit out of trafficking. We could cut back on border patrol and, with taxation, balance the budget because of weed!

I've said this before, the only reason weed and other drugs aren't legal is because they are not in the Bible like wine and liquor. Same thing with masturbation - some asshole 3000 years ago thought it was icky, it got into the Bible and now there's a stigma around a perfectly healthy, normal activity.

Syringe laws would hopefully be part of decriminalization of drugs..... making clean needles easier to acquire. The "heroin makes your arm fall off" argument is a red crap.
