The President's populist campaign theme has made big moneymen nervous

"President Obama has message for Wall St. — I will not demonize you, just Mitt Romney and his ties to you.

That assurance was conveyed by Obama’s campaign manager Jim Messina in a private meeting with nervous Democratic donors from the financial services industry, Bloomberg News reported Tuesday.

Messina met with some of Obama’s biggest backers this week at the members only Core Club in Manhattan, where he was questioned about the increasingly populist tone of the President’s reelection campaign.

The campaign chief responded that Mitt Romney was the target — not the private equity industry that enriched the former Massachusetts governor, two people who were at the meeting told the news wire........(article continues)......"

I don't think there's any doubt now that, barring some disaster economically, that Obama is a lock for re-election. It was always an uphill climb for the GOP to unseat an incumbent (as it is for any Presidential incumbent) and now that the GOP has no viable candidate (Santorum would lose PA in a landslide - he'd be Mondale-like, and Romney only a little better).

The only candidate who really had a prayer is Gingrich. And he's too Neo-con for the hard core repubs....Obama would really have to shit himself now to not get reelected.

You mean he hasn't already? He's saddled himself with a veep who can't be trusted to even talk. He's endorsed by the Commies. He's gotten us in hock up to our ears. In MY book, he's LONG been disqualified for office.

Sadly, just more evidence of the politician in Obama coming to the surface. I'll demonize the way Romney made his money, I'll demonize his company and how it functioned, and I'll demonize him for making profits from said company and industry, but don't worry, I'll won't demonize you guys who are doing the same exact thing in the same exact manner because in no way am I fostering a class-warfare approach. Obviously, not exactly what I hoped for from Obama when I voted for him in '08.

I was hoping he could rise above that. And I was convinced McCain would have trouble rising at all. Damn GOP is going to saddle me with little option yet again in '12. But you know, the Dems did that to me with Gore and then Kerry so it is the GOP's turn to offer up no viable alternative.
