Not so sure Hen. Think about it, which is a bigger deal - getting an abortion in Chicago that no one will ever find out about or dealing with the stigma and radical life changes of a teen, unwanted, or god forbid, a mixed-race pregnancy.

Your church/religion is powerful to the point that it pretty much own$ the republican party and writes its official policy on birth control, abortion and sex education. It spends millions villifying orgs like PP who are trying to help women and has been very successful convincing politicians to eliminate realistic sex education programs and condom and birth control access here and across the globe. All with devastating consequences, especially for the poor. Jesus would not be happy with you.

It's actaully a little ironic that you bring this up now as just last week the Obama Admin and the Dept of HHS just signed a new rule that religious organizations that provide healthcare benefits must provide birth control as a part of the plan, regardless of their religious beliefs. Churches are exempt, but not schools, charity organizations, health care providers, etc... It's been a big deal at church the last three weeks. Now, while you might say that's an example of how they influence policy, they are only asking relief for themselves, not other oraganizations.

Yesterday...2:45pm...listened while waiting to pick up my son from school. On the one show alone, a couple libs called in...Joe will blow them off. But the guest was Roger Jones from the Dallas newspaper...an anti-abortion person, who said he won't be giving to Komen. Instead, he let people know they can donate to other organizations.

Througout the day, more people were talking about the same issue...on NPR and a couple other radio stations. Not going to bring up their transcripts also, but things weren't going Komen's way.

It's cooked because it pissed off both sides of the issue. Many people, on both sides, are cutting Komen off.

PS -- I don't think Hen was saying he didn't believe you. I think he was saying that the people who pop off on radio shows (both liberals and conservatives) are generally not representative even of the people on whose behalf they claim to speak.
