Can't wait to see Kalm's results. I'm sure he'll keep adjusting his answers until he looks more like a centrist.

No, but I liked the way my list finishes. I answered neither quite a bit and placed a high priority on most items. I agree that it's a shitty test. Too many questions like the one about labor and whether you support the Chamber of Commerce or the unions I had to answer "neither". And please tell me which candidate on the list supports fair trade?

More interesting that the Dems in power line up more than with me than the Pubes running - I am seeing this with a number of you guys. That leads to an ethusiasm gap.
Hell - you agree with Obama almost half the time.

Re: GOP Candidate selector quiz
How many Dems listed has nothing to do with the fact that your views are obviously EXTREMELY left (as are the other Libs who posted their results). It would seem the R's here are the centrists while the Libs are off the left deep end. That's really no surprise, just fun to see.dbackjon wrote:WEll, since they only listed three dems, and the rest Pubes, what did you expect.

BTW, I do agree my 3 vs 15 stat is bogus because of the number of Dems listed.

Re: GOP Candidate selector quiz
The possible choices were definitely too limited. I am something of a centrist and while the either one extreme or the other choices didn't reflect my true views I did feel that most of the issues were to important to not make a selection. I found my results interesting. I would have thought that Mitch Daniels would have been higher.

There are no extreme left candidates on the list and very few moderate republican politicians around period. Wishful thinking on your part but I don't think the middle is where you think it is. Just look at the percentage of voters that supported single payer, tax increases on the rich and corporations, and want to keep medicare and social security.89Hen wrote:How many Dems listed has nothing to do with the fact that your views are obviously EXTREMELY left (as are the other Libs who posted their results). Well, maybe Biden and Clinton.dbackjon wrote:89Hen wrote: How many Dems listed has nothing to do with the fact that your views are obviously EXTREMELY left (as are the other Libs who posted their results). It would seem the R's here are the centrists while the Libs are off the left deep end. That's really no surprise, just fun to see.
BTW, I do agree my 3 vs 15 stat is bogus because of the number of Dems listed.
Just the opposite - Obama, Biden and Clinton are far more centerist than ANY of the pubes listed - they are the extremists, not the donks

Re: GOP Candidate selector quiz
In general Americans are more liberal than most of the world. Where the center is depends on your reference points. If it is vs. long term history there are virtually no conservatives on the list. If it is vs. those born since 1975 in socialist European nations, there is only one liberal on the list.kalm wrote:There are no extreme left candidates on the list and very few moderate republican politicians around period. Wishful thinking on your part but I don't think the middle is where you think it is. Just look at the percentage of voters that supported single payer, tax increases on the rich and corporations, and want to keep medicare and social security.89Hen wrote: How many Dems listed has nothing to do with the fact that your views are obviously EXTREMELY left (as are the other Libs who posted their results). Re: GOP Candidate selector quiz
Clinton is a centrist, Biden is a clown, and Obama is a Chicago politician first and foremost and they're more about greed and power than any particular ideology. I don't think you can make a blanket statement that all of the Repubs are extremists, Mitch Daniels is relatively moderate and more centrist than Obama's public perception. Speaking of extremist, it's also interesting that Pelosi and Reid don't show up.dbackjon wrote:89Hen wrote: How many Dems listed has nothing to do with the fact that your views are obviously EXTREMELY left (as are the other Libs who posted their results).
