I think Hitchens just got ditch-slapped.

Joltin joe- protects pedophiles and writes boring crap that will never be read by anyone except his priest and wife and Col Hogan.

Hitchens- world renowned intellectual giant, writer and orator who is loved and read by millions.

THere are many Christians, that think if you aren't with them, you're against them. Why is is necessary for Christians and Jews to spread thier word? What is the benefit there? I can honestly say, the only Athiest I have ever met is D1b. I have never met another athiest. I've met plenty of religious nuts that love to preach to me, tell me how great thier god is and then have no answer as to why thier God doesn't make himself known. If I were a god, I'd let the non believers know me.

Side story, when I was in high school (it was Catholic) these God Freaks would come protest outside our school. ONe guy asked if I was saved, I told him I was and he proceeded to curse me for blasphemy. He proceded to ask me questions, which I answered as a good Catholic would(which I as at the time). THis dumbass then agrees with me. What a fucking moron. THose people have no information, yet because they read a few bible verses, they feel its thier "duty" to spread the word.

I always say on here, most people have no idea about the HIstory of the Bible, they think it's all a historical fact like Lincoln being killed in 1865. They have no clue as to the history of religion. That is dangerous.

In America, I truly believe that we are religiously oppressed by the religions. THe fact that Romney is a mormo or LIeberman is a Jew, should have no impact onthem, yet it does. We love to pretend we have Freedom of Religion, when really we need Freedom FROM Religion.

Uhhh, yes there is. Christians are fucking delusional and do it for jesus and ghosts in the sky. Atheist fight amoral behavior solely for the betterment of man. So much time and energy is wasted with religions - trillions upon trillions of dollars and wasted time and human effort. The ills of the world could be cured if we knocked the religious bullshit off and concentrated on what is ultimately better for our species.

Also, christians are conditioned by dogma to acquiesce to authority. Unlike atheists, they cannot think for themselves, especially in areas like morality and ethics. This is an utterly dangerous situation that regularly rears its ugly head with disastrous results. The greatest crimes against humanity originated in deeply christian protestant and catholic nations. The catholic church still continues to hide and protect pedophiles and rapists. They also form the foundation for bigotry against gays.

Christopher Hitchens (1949 - 2011) was an Anglo-American author and journalist. His books made him a prominent public intellectual and a staple of talk shows and lecture circuits. He was a columnist and literary critic at Vanity Fair, Slate, The Atlantic, World Affairs, The Nation, Free Inquiry and a variety of other media outlets. He was named one of the world's "Top 100 Public Intellectuals" by Foreign Policy and Britain's Prospect.

From Vanity Fair
Christopher Hitchens—the incomparable critic, masterful rhetorician, fiery wit, and fearless bon vivant—died today at the age of 62. Hitchens was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in the spring of 2010, just after the publication of his memoir, Hitch-22, and began chemotherapy soon after. His matchless prose has appeared in Vanity Fair since 1992, when he was named contributing editor.

“Cancer victimhood contains a permanent temptation to be self-centered and even solipsistic,” Hitchens wrote nearly a year ago in Vanity Fair, but his own final labors were anything but: in the last 12 months, he produced for this magazine a piece on U.S.-Pakistani relations in the wake of Osama bin Laden’s death, a portrait of Joan Didion, an essay on the Private Eye retrospective at the Victoria and Albert Museum, a prediction about the future of democracy in Egypt, a meditation on the legacy of progressivism in Wisconsin, and a series of frank, graceful, and exquisitely written essays in which he chronicled the physical and spiritual effects of his disease. At the end, Hitchens was more engaged, relentless, hilarious, observant, and intelligent than just about everyone else—just as he had been for the last four decades.

“My chief consolation in this year of living dyingly has been the presence of friends,” he wrote in the June 2011 issue. He died in their presence, too, at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. May his 62 years of living, well, so livingly console the many of us who will miss him dearly.

Typical arrogant christian dipship automaton.

Christians are amoral because they care solely to please god. You're like dogs, except worse. You've been trained like dogs since birth.

Atheists care because it's the right thing to do and improves mankind. This higher level of moral development transcends "dog training" and will ultimately prevail. You're already starting to see it as people are leaving religion by the millions and many more, especially catholic, for all practical purposes are religious only in name. They never go to church and they don't adhere to church dogma.

Religion is increasingly resorting to slick Madison Avenue marketing schemes and gimmicks to attract victims. There's church down the street that broadcasts mass in the parking lot so people don't have to get out of their cars. People just tune their car radios to their frequency and there you go. Fucks with baskets go from car to car fleecing said sheep of their hard earned dough. It's a circus really.

Take a closer look at your family reunion. You can spot the christian soldier a mile away - they have that pissed look on their face because people are drinking and uttering expletives now and again. They secretly want to join the freethinkers in the garage who are smoking dope in between reffing fun as hell clandestine floor hockey games with the kids using gramps' $1500 Pings and a whiffle ball. Or, they have that glazed over look of someone who just got hit in the head with an anvil. They're always blessing you and asking why they don't see you at church anymore.... A week after they leave you find a christian pamphlette in your coat pocket.

Atheism is the lack of belief in a supreme being. That is NOT a religion. There is no dogma attached to lacking belief.
