Former Notre Dame QB to Delaware?
Joe Schad just tweeted that Notre Dame QB Dayne Crist, who was benched in favor of Tommy Rees earlier this year, has visited Kansas and is planning to check out Delaware and Wisconsin.
Great. Just what Delaware needs. Another FBS transfer at QB.

Re: Former Notre Dame QB to Delaware?
Crist won't be coming to Delaware.
Also, you seem to have some issue with FBS transfers. Were they suddenly made illegal? If so, you better contact the NCAA immediately, because I watched the Montana-UNI game last Friday night and lost count of the number of FBS transfers I heard mentioned.

Re: Former Notre Dame QB to Delaware?
No chance he comes to UD. He's only got one year left and he can transfer anywhere and play right away. UD wouldn't take a one year filler at the QB spot - two years, sure, but not one. Besides, there are much better transfer QB's out there this year and yes, UD (starting QB missed all of this year after getting hurt in opener and is out until early Fall next year and the backup QB looked fine but isn't really FCS-starter material - both are HS recruits btw) will very likely have an FBS transfer at QB next year.
One of the advantages of having a track record like Hall, Flacco, and Devlin is that you can have the pick of the litter when it comes to transfers. The early favorite is O'Brien from Maryland - he's got two years left and has already graduated college so he can technically go anywhere and play right away, but with UD's impressive track record, we could actually land him.

The Ohio State website I'm a member on is saying Wisconsin is pretty much a done deal for him.

I don't really have a problem with FBS drop-downs, but looking over our roster, all I see is Antwon Moutra from UCLA...93henfan wrote:Crist won't be coming to Delaware.

Re: Former Notre Dame QB to Delaware?
There are at least six according to your website. Maybe 7 if the Notre Dame is the university and not a high school. You also have a boatload of JUCOs.Grizalltheway wrote:I don't really have a problem with FBS drop-downs, but looking over our roster, all I see is Antwon Moutra from UCLA...93henfan wrote:Crist won't be coming to Delaware.

Again though, I'm not the person who has a problem with transfers.

Re: Former Notre Dame QB to Delaware?
Alright, I was way the fuck off on my count. Sue me. In any event, if an FCS school can get FBS-level talent to come play for them, they'd be pretty stupid not to.

To expand on my terse response, Devlin is a guy Delaware recruited, he chose Penn State, and he later transferred to Delaware and started two seasons with us.dal4018 wrote:Okay just asking of course thanks93henfan wrote:

Getting back to Montana, they have 20 transfers (8 FBS, 12 JUCO), but who's counting really?

Re: Former Notre Dame QB to Delaware?
Honestly it's easier to list talented FBS QB transfers that don't look at Delaware.
There seems to be some mutual interest per a Chicago Tribune article today but I'd call Crist a long shot.
UD has also been connected with Maryland QB Danny O'Brien who I would prefer over Crist . I'd love to see Heaps from BYU too, but I haven't heard a peep on that yet other than he's not coming back to BYU.

And again, you're both factually incorrect, but let's not let the facts get in the way here.dal4018 wrote:Thanks Willie his being a one yr wonder was probably the reason he didn't get draftedWillie wrote: Yes he was.

Re: Former Notre Dame QB to Delaware?
He has a good arm but isn't mobile. A lot of people were question his willingness to take a hit too. He needs to use that redshirt year he still has and get his head on straight. I am not casting stones here, I don't think I had my head on straight until I was much MUCH older than him.bluehenbillk wrote:Honestly it's easier to list talented FBS QB transfers that don't look at Delaware.
