I agree. I hope UNI fans were taking note of how fans should be at a game.

Doubtful. As long as Iowa and Iowa State are still playing football, UNI fans will continue to blow.
"Sarah Palin absolutely blew AWAY the audience tonight. If there was any doubt as to whether she was savvy enough, tough enough or smart enough to carry the mantle of Vice President, she put those fears to rest tonight. She took on Barack Obama DIRECTLY on every issue and exposed... She did it with warmth and humor, and came across as the every-person....it's becoming mroe and more clear that she was a genius pick for McCain."

Just wondering, but how was Montana allowed to use their cannon after every score? The NCAA didn't even allow ODU to bring the howitzer to our game against Norfolk State. WTF is up with that?

ps. great atmosphere tonight.

I think they tried to ban it in the 90's and the community went on a rage.

I don't think the NCAA spends enough time in Montana to care.

Dude, the announcers sucked first half, then let the stadium take over in the second.

Burn that sh!t to DVD. It was a treat.

Do what we did when the NCAA tried to stop us from shooting the rifle and playing Hells Bells in the playoffs

1. Form a middle finger.
2. Point it directly at the NCAA.
3. Use other hand to point to the large pool of money you just made the NCAA.
4. Fire the shit out of the rifle and play the hell out of Hells Bells.

The reason we are cheering for Montana State to win tomorrow is to match the intensity of that 09 semifinal game.

You people know how it's done most of the time.

I was watching the game with my Texas Longhorn fan father and he kept asking me if I was sure that was an FCS game. Haha

Fantastic atmosphere and the Griz made a statement to everyone else in the field who were watching on television.

I believe they are allowed to have the cannon because they are in a border state. The NCAA said that large assemblies of people in border states are potential targets of terrorism. The cannon can help protect them by warding off the aggressive neighbors. Those Canadians are ferocious.

From what my booze-soaked brain can recall, it was a blast. Guess I'll have to watch the replay tomorrow.

Very impressive everyone who was there. I could only watch the beginning, but from what I saw, you guys represented the FCS very well. Great atmosphere!

I believe that is correct. We also have a kicker from BC & a guy named Canada on the team to make America's hat happy.

There is a cannon at every Nevada-UNLV football game. It is called the Fremont Cannon and it is officially the heaviest trophy in college football.

Image

I recall that decades ago Southern Utah had a cannon that would be fired on every score and they claimed it was aimed at Dixie College down the road. Of course, if it had a round in the chamber, it would not go the 50 miles, but that isn't the point of such a tradition.

I was wearing my Canada beanie & a couple of kids in the front row of the student section were waving a giant Canadian flag blanket.

Last night's game was an absolute, can't justifiably be explained, blast of the highest order! Picture, and words just don't do it justice!

Many, many good laughs, and way more fun that I can adequately describe! From gourmet tri-tips & gumbo...fireworks, the lighted "M", Cinnamon whiskey from Willie, holding Ursus' O'Douls...while he put on lip gloss, meeting some GREAT UNI fans, to ALPHA pointing at one of the banks of lights that lit Washington/Grizzly Stadium and saying: "Damn, Grizo, look at the moon! It sure is bright tonight! That's probably a good sign for us, don't ya' think?".

Good times!!!
