He didn't want to say it. His mommy wanted him to say it. It was completely inappropriate.

Seems like there was a genuine moment of humanity there by Bachmann right after before going back to politician mode. It makes you wonder if she really believes half the shit she's saying.

Maybe. Of course she did. Not really considering her public stance on the issue.

"Do you have something to say?"
Pushes kid forward.
"It's OK say it"
Pushes kid forward.
Kid mumbles it with camera in his face.
Mommy runs away.

Parent fail!

Yep, great job. Get them exposed to evil early in life so they can fight it.

You on the other hand indoctrinate your children from birth with catholic dogma that teaches them to acquiesce to authority and simply do anything the church says, like hate gays. :ohno:
"Sarah Palin absolutely blew AWAY the audience tonight. If there was any doubt as to whether she was savvy enough, tough enough or smart enough to carry the mantle of Vice President, she put those fears to rest tonight. She took on Barack Obama DIRECTLY on every issue and exposed... She did it with warmth and humor, and came across as the every-person....it's becoming mroe and more clear that she was a genius pick for McCain."

I'm assuming she's against gay marriage, I don't know. Regardless of what her stance is, it wrong to use you child as a political pawn. If the mom had something to say, she should have said it. You don't force your kid to say something in front of a camera and then run to youtube to prove your point.

This is so wrong and misguided. Michelle Bachmann isn't the one trying to counsel the gay out of people. That would be her gay husband.

You gotta keep the kids out of this stuff but I find it no less inappropriate than Bachmann's stance on homosexuality. Both are wrong.

Why do you use your children as pawns for your religion? I see you fucks with your children going door to door and holding signs outside abortion clinics all the fucking time.

I agree with you. Leave your children the fuck alone until they're adults and possess the ability to make their own decisions, rather than force feeding them fairy tales and bullshit YOU don't even believe.

I don't do any of that.
The only thing I know about Bachmann is that the majority of people here at CS.com on both sides consider her "bat shit crazy"
My point is this lady isn't helping her cause by doing this to her child.

You don't get your children involved in shit that they can't possibly comprehend, like this mother did?

Forcing them to go to church, forcing them to be baptized, forcing them into CCD, forcing them to symbolically eat flesh and drink blood of your zombie god every sunday, forcing them to pray to ghosts, forcing them to obey seriously flawed men who dress funny?

Andy, you do the same thing and you do a disservice to your religion too - confirming that the only way it can survive is by brainwashing children and forcing them to be involved with things they shouldn't.

Just saying. Children should be allowed to be children and not be burdened with politics and religion.

Michelle Bachman is a product of her religion.

Interestingly, I saw this on CNN this morning:

http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/2011/12/0 ... &hpt=hp_t2
Nearly one in five atheist scientists with children involve their families with religious institutions, even if they personally do not agree with the institutions teachings, a recent study says...

..."We thought that these individuals might be less inclined to introduce their children to religious traditions, but we found the exact opposite to be true," Ecklund said. "They want their children to have choices, and it is more consistent with their science identity to expose their children to all sources of knowledge."

Ecklund said there were cases in which survey respondents identified that not only did they introduce their children to one church, but they also attended other religious services in the hope that the children would better understand each denomination.

There's a huge difference between "exposing" children and "forcing" children. My beef is with the forcing. Forcing eliminates choice.

The "study" you cite, further underscores the fact that atheists are more knowledgeable about religion than the religious are. It also highlights the fact that atheists are tolerant and make better parents.

I loathe Bachmann with every fiber of my being - and love nothing more than to see her humiliated on a routine basis...

that said - I agree with Andy pretty completely... this kid was scripted - and used as a pawn, and that's not okay.

If the kid had held that view and felt compelled to show up and take her on - that's one thing... but it's clear from the video that the kid was coached and coerced in to doing this...

the thing that really stands out thought - is MB's reaction... she looks revolted... I've seen that look before, in person, and on more than one occasion - she gets the same look every time she talks to someone she knows is gay... (makes me wonder what happens when she talks to her husband...)
