It was one of the things I learned VERY quickly when I moved up there... they cannot stand being made fun of.

UND did that the first time they had to play NDSU in the Fargodome in 1994. It was announced during the game you could hear the music 6 blocks away. You need to prepare for everything NDSU throws at you including the 12th man. Good luck JMU!!!

I think the non-NDSU fans here are thinking too much with their hearts and their loathing of certain NDSU fans. NDSU's defense is physical as heck, SIU didn't see it because you didn't have to be physical with SIU to beat them this year(I'm just sayin'). THis is essentially the same NDSU team that took EWU to the brink last year. I by no means am defending NDSU because I want to. They are going to roll up JMU and smoke them like the cheapest cigar from Canada, and then we are going to have to hear it FOREVER. That's what everyone fears here, including me.

JMU is more than capable of controlling the tempo of the game, completely wearing down your defense, and limiting your overall 'snaps' on offense.

I stand by the fact that the Bison D precludes them from doing that. If they use Thorpe at all like they did last week - he's going to end up out of the game... He's very similar to Rennie at UNI - and by the 3rd... he was done.

I can see this as a defensive struggle - but I think that favors NDSU and their defense, which scores a surprising number of points.

As for the previous - it's not paranoia, it's the truth - on this board there is a level of schadenfreude toward any failing NDSU has owing to the handful of louts that comprise our fanbase on this site... many posters have said as much, repeatedly.

On paper, this should have the least amount of offense of the eight second-round games. JMU might have some success running since NDSU is good-but-not-great at stopping it, but I don't think it'll be enough. The Bison are clearly better on special teams & in the redzone on both sides of the ball, not to mention the effects of the Fabariffic Fargo Dome…

Well unfortunately stats only tell half of the story. They really can't say what matchups favor who, personnel-wise. I.E. we have no idea how NDSU right side of their OL matches up with JMU's defensive line or how JMU's WR's match up with NDSU's corners....we only get the general idea.

I do agree that NDSU will have to bust their ass to win this game, though.

Wouldn't the students want to go to the game? As a fan whose school gets blasted for students not showing up this seems really odd.
