Jalmond - I'll grant you the Oregonlive talk line is overboard pro-PSU and relatively uninformed and by all means skip it (it has no administrator) but the PSU Fan Forum (run out of Montana) has a number of regulars who are well-informed and have useful thoughts - Martymoose is one but there are several others. A vigilant administrator keeps it clean of junk.

MSU weak punt game?! We have an awesome punter, we just never have to use him.

The Bobcats are 8th. in the conference in net punting (last in conference play).

 Yeah MSU sucks at punting. They are only better than one other BSC team.

frinq wrote:SD, I'd put it the other way around: PSU 31 WSU 17. In just about every statistical category PSU is leading WSU, it's at PSU, and PSU wants as much as WSU to win their last seasonal game. In one respect, however, the two teams are evenly matched - the weather. It's going to be cold and rainy Saturday.
Meh. Depends on which WSU team shows up. PSU has been playing well though....even though they should have lost to UNC but poor officiating saved them. :stir:

Oregon Live is just a bunch of Duck fans who want to spit out useless posts about why we should move to the WAC, as if they would start to care about us if we were "like Boise State". By the end of the 2009 season, they were all thinking they were better than Boise, even though they lost to Boise that year. They don't respect Boise, why would they respect us?

I did check out the fans forum just now (I hadn't been over there in awhile). Basically, what I said about egriz, we are great, Weber is terrible and we are going to cream them (and go to the playoffs). I highly doubt I could be objective over there. Placing PSU at #9 in the final power rankings last year (and starting them at #8 this year) would have definitely generated some heat, probably as much as if I posted this week's rankings in the ISU forum.

Final BSC week

Weber State 21 @ Portland State 24 - PSU grinds out a close win at home.

UC Davis 35 @ Sacramento State 29 - This will be a close game that I think will come down to a couple plays. Sac State's kicking game is a liability for them and Davis beat a pretty good Cal Poly team a couple weeks ago, and I think they win this one too.

Southern Utah 31 @ Northern Arizona 28 - Toss-up game. At this point I think SUU is a little better team, so I expect them to win this one.

Eastern Washington 42 @ Idaho State 24 - Should be a wild one with lots of yards through the air. Eastern's secondary is better than ISU's, and that'll be the difference.

Montana 34 @ Montana State 31 - FCS upset of the week. I think Montana's defense is a little better than MSU's, and I think that will be the difference in this one.
Nevermind. Missed the PSU score. Got the rest. 4/5.

No Northern Colorado on the schedule but everyone else is playing mainly for pride and, in some cases, bragging rights. So here are my predictions for this week. All are my opinion only and all open for discussion. This is the last week, and I still hope for perfection.

EWU at ISU---Hard to imagine that, after that dreadful start, the Eagles could finish with a winning record, and if not for that home loss to Portland State, could still be in a position for a playoff spot. However, circumstances rendered that their only prize in this game is the win. For the Bengals, the rebuilding continues...EWU 38, ISU 7.

Southern Utah at NAU---A possible start to a rivalry in the conference next year. The Lumberjacks met their match last weekend at Weber State but they have been playing for pride for awhile now. Still, to get ready for next year in more ways than one, a good win would go a long way. However, this Southern Utah team is good and the win will not come easy...Southern Utah 26, NAU 24.

UC-Davis at Sacramento State---Another one of those pesky rivalry games, one that will gain strength for next year. Even with the win last week against Idaho State, the Hornets still have not looked like the strong team they were early in the year. Now that they have virtually given up on the kicking game anything is possible. But given UC-Davis's struggles this year, the Hornets should find a way to get this one...Sac State 32, UC-Davis 14.

WSU at PSU---The Vikings have not gotten the memo that they are out of the playoffs and they still keep steamrolling along with that idea in mind. Last week they escaped Northern Colorado with a win and they hope to do the same at home. The Wildcats got a win last weekend in their last home game for their outgoing coach. Now, they would like to get a win in the last game of his career...PSU 31, WSU 20.

And then, the big one...

UM at MSU---With both teams coming off of byes last week, both should be rested and relatively healthy. The Grizzlies seem to have found their offense to take some pressure off that defense. The Bobcats are brimming with confidence on both sides of the ball, having not lost a game since their opener at Utah. This should be a good one, for awhile at least...MSU 38, UM 20.
Hate the rivalry week. 2-3 for the week, 48-15 for the year. Helluva way to end the year, much like Portland State.

As a fan you hate to see it go down like that, but you have to be proud of where PSU is heading. Burton's a good one, and you fuckers did end the National Champs chance of defending the title.
