I didn't want people to write it for me, and I never said that- Cluck started this whole mess by putting words in my mouth. I just wanted some fans' insights into their team(s) to guide my own research. I.e. what I should look at and look for. That's all. I'm sorry if I offended anyone for some reason. I just thought the fans would be a quick ticket to some easy information. Not every FCS team has a youtube page or operate out of my own backyard, so I need help. Is that really so heinous? Really?
Reading stats and team-issue material on a team's website only reveals so much- that's where the fans come in. They've seen these guys play before. I was just trying to get some information, that's all. I thought, "who better to ask than the fans?"

In the meantime, you were given a hint as to how to better proceed with your request, but instead decided to fold your tent, erase your original posts (frankly, not a bad idea...Nixon could have learned a valuable lesson from you) and then come back to play victim.

Plenty of people willing to talk about their teams...that's what makes this board so fun and informative. But you don't want to do that...you just want, in your own words...a "quick ticket" (there's that need for speed again, despite your denial) for your own purpose without so much as a care for what other people want to discuss about their teams and without a "please" or "thank you".

A few posts ago, when I realized that a lot of people were more than pissed about this thread. Check my post from around 1:30 in this thread.

I guess I really don't understand why this got so much negative response. I'm relatively new to FCS football (as you would expect from someone whose team is pretty new to this level). I wanted to get more information. My justification for asking for info was five-fold.

1. To broaden my information base. FCS isn't on every week like FBS games are (obviously).
2. Box scores only go so far, and I haven't found any reliable FCS statistics websites (I wasn't asking for stats, in any case)
3. I had an idea for an upcoming FCS Playoffs preview blog post of my own- something different to write about instead of my usual drivel. I confess- I wanted to sound like I know what I am talking about.
4. I thought it would (at least partially) contribute to a nice conversation about the teams in FCS and in turn generate healthy discussion.
5. And because I am new. I would like to know some of the posters (and by extension their teams) better.

Again, my apologies.
In a nutshell, my original post was a basic outlining of what I was hoping to find out as well as my primary reasons for asking- what kind of system the team currently runs, who their best players are, some of their rivalries/program characteristics, and a general idea of what the team looks like this year. I also added that there was some info I didn't want- historical information (every team's website has something like that already). This was a huge mistake (much like this whole thread), apparently. What I thought was a well-intending request for information turned into...well, this.

Why qualify your apology, as if somehow it's the other persons fault? If you're sorry, just say so, no need to add "for some reason". It doesn't come off as sincere.

If you're not sorry, that's cool too, just don't be insincere about it.
