Ron Paul is 2nd in a recent Bloomberg Iowa poll at 19% with the top 4 basically in a statistical tie. If Republicans are smart they will nominate him. He would be a very interesting alternative to Obama for independents.

Paul is a lot like Cain....lots of interesting ideas, thought-provoking ideas...then he just goes off the fucking reservation on some things that make you go "WTF?"

Iowa? Really? Who cares what happens in the Iowa caucuses besides political pundits and groupies? Iowa's just a side show until the real primaries happen.
As for Paul, I agree with AZ, the dude says some things that are thought provoking and actually interesting, but then he's a flat out loon the rest of the time. He should have his own cable show, he'd fit in just fine doing political commentary. Zero chance of being nominated or elected.

After getting to watch a few UNI playoff games, I'm not really fearing Iowa. I mean, if there were 6.93 Iowas, then I'd be worried. Just one Iowa? No problem.grizzaholic wrote:Really? Dude, that's what Iowa WANTS you to think. Really, each state is 6.93% of Iowa.AZGrizFan wrote:One Iowa is = 6.93 of any other state.Ibanez wrote:

It's an easy mistake, it's ok.

See, this right here. I tried to get these numbers to work with AZ's data and it just didn't add up. Thanks Ibanez.Ibanez wrote:Dude, that's what Iowa WANTS you to think. Really, each state is 6.93% of Iowa.AZGrizFan wrote:

Hey, it's a rookie mistake. Just don't let Iowa catch you making it. It'll be like World War 2 times 6.93. Az is a banker. What does he know about numbers?grizzaholic wrote:See, this right here. Unless you count Hawaii as part of Asia, like O'Bama. Then you get a repeating 7.07070707070707070707......

yes and no.youngterrier wrote:Polls mean nothing until after the first couple primaries
polls matter - they matter for raising money, they matter a whole hell of a lot for momentum... just ask Cain... polls showed him moving up - and the money POURED in.
polls however... do not vote - and one thing I've learned - never rely on them as a predictor of what will happen.

Re: Here comes Paul
Faced with the alternatives, I'd vote for him. Sure, he says some things that seem a little out there from time to time - at least you kknow where he stands. I personally don't feel that the agendas of either political party is representing my individual interests or the interests of the majority of mainstream America. Both parties suck ass. Think what you will of Paul, but he is the only candidate that will try to bring about real change in this country. Sadly, he won't get wide support, and it'll either be 4 more years of the same BS policies of the current administration, or a reversion to the BS policies of the one before it.

I would say the same thing about the rest of the GOP candidates.I wonder who that old crank would pick for his Secretary of State. Scary thought!
