Final BSC week

Post by Wildcat Ryan »

Saturday Nov 19th

Weber State @ Portland State- The Wildcats dont adjust really well in the 2nd half. In another crazy game between these 2 teams, Portland State finally notches another win vs WSU.

UC Davis @ Sacramento State- The Hornets finish the year with a win against thier hated rival.

Southern Utah @ Northern Arizona- The Jacks win the last non conf game between the 2 teams before it becomes an annual Big Sky Conf rivalry next year.

Eastern Washington @ Idaho State- The road warrior Eagles win again on the road.

Montana @ Montana State- In the most highly anticipated game in the Big Sky Conf, the Bobcats survive a late Griz comeback to win the Big Sky outright and claim the autobid.

Weber State @ Portland State- The vikes are still playing pretty good ball and should win this one at home.

UC Davis @ Sacramento State- I think Sac should get by with a win

Southern Utah @ Northern Arizona- As much as I like SUU, they have been really sketchy at times, going with NAU at home.

Eastern Washington @ Idaho State- ISU is play a bit better but won't be enough to get by the Eags

Montana @ Montana State- I can't pick the kitties, I just can't. I do think we have a good shot at winning this but we won't fair well if our normal offense shows up.

Weber State @ Portland State

UC Davis @ Sacramento State

Southern Utah @ Northern Arizona

Eastern Washington @ Idaho State

Montana @ Montana State

All home teams except for ISU, for obvious reasons.

I guess I have some different ideas than most on here......

Weber State 21 @ Portland State 24 - PSU grinds out a close win at home.

UC Davis 35 @ Sacramento State 29 - This will be a close game that I think will come down to a couple plays. Sac State's kicking game is a liability for them and Davis beat a pretty good Cal Poly team a couple weeks ago, and I think they win this one too.

Southern Utah 31 @ Northern Arizona 28 - Toss-up game. At this point I think SUU is a little better team, so I expect them to win this one.

Eastern Washington 42 @ Idaho State 24 - Should be a wild one with lots of yards through the air. Eastern's secondary is better than ISU's, and that'll be the difference.

Montana 34 @ Montana State 31 - FCS upset of the week. I think Montana's defense is a little better than MSU's, and I think that will be the difference in this one.

I sure hope Tripp will be back this week.

Nope. Just had surgery last week--out for the season. My understanding is that they're trying to get a medical redshirt.

Well that is what I get for reading Egriz.

Sorry that I don't live on EGRIZ. I stop maybe once a week and after about 10 minutes I leave.

Sorry to state the obvious, but eGrizzers are retarded. If he just got hurt a game or two ago, there's no chance he'll get a medical redshirt. Can only play a 1/3rd or less of the season before the injury happens.

This is the last week for predictions and so far I am at 46-12 with a shot at 50 correct predictions, something that seemed unattainable after the first couple of weeks. No Northern Colorado on the schedule but everyone else is playing mainly for pride and, in some cases, bragging rights. So here are my predictions for this week. All are my opinion only and all open for discussion. This is the last week, and I still hope for perfection.

EWU at ISU---Hard to imagine that, after that dreadful start, the Eagles could finish with a winning record, and if not for that home loss to Portland State, could still be in a position for a playoff spot. However, circumstances rendered that their only prize in this game is the win. For the Bengals, the rebuilding continues...EWU 38, ISU 7.

Southern Utah at NAU---A possible start to a rivalry in the conference next year. The Lumberjacks met their match last weekend at Weber State but they have been playing for pride for awhile now. Still, to get ready for next year in more ways than one, a good win would go a long way. However, this Southern Utah team is good and the win will not come easy...Southern Utah 26, NAU 24.

UC-Davis at Sacramento State---Another one of those pesky rivalry games, one that will gain strength for next year. Even with the win last week against Idaho State, the Hornets still have not looked like the strong team they were early in the year. Now that they have virtually given up on the kicking game anything is possible. But given UC-Davis's struggles this year, the Hornets should find a way to get this one...Sac State 32, UC-Davis 14.

WSU at PSU---The Vikings have not gotten the memo that they are out of the playoffs and they still keep steamrolling along with that idea in mind. Last week they escaped Northern Colorado with a win and they hope to do the same at home. The Wildcats got a win last weekend in their last home game for their outgoing coach. Now, they would like to get a win in the last game of his career...PSU 31, WSU 20.

And then, the big one...

UM at MSU---With both teams coming off of byes last week, both should be rested and relatively healthy. The Grizzlies seem to have found their offense to take some pressure off that defense. The Bobcats are brimming with confidence on both sides of the ball, having not lost a game since their opener at Utah. This should be a good one, for awhile at least...MSU 38, UM 20.

I hate rivalry week. 2-3 for the week, 48-15 for the year. Helluva way to end the year, much like Portland State.

Weber State @ Portland State: 31-24 WSU. Wildcats send Coach Mac out with a win. PSU will have home advantage though.

cal-davis @ Sacramento State: 20-13 Sac State (1/3 on 2-point conversions). Both offenses are struggling; Fleming is out along with a slew of other Hornets out with injury. The phaggies have the kicking advantage. If the Hornet defense continues to play like they have been, the Hornets should win.

Southern Utah @ Northern Arizona: 28-17 SUU. Another close one. NAU has won the last few in this match-up, SUU is due I guess.

Eastern Washington @ Idaho State: 34-13 EWU. ISU has no OL so I think they will struggle to put up points.

Montana @ Montana State: 24-21 MSU. Toss up and a total guess. Should be a good game.

So what you only look at the first page? Too hard to figure out how to get to the next one? Even though I'm pretty sure it was on the first page for like 2 weeks, maybe 3. eGriz is entertaining and fun to be involved, especially with all the shit talking. It's great.

SD, I'd put it the other way around: PSU 31 WSU 17. In just about every statistical category PSU is leading WSU, it's at PSU, and PSU wants as much as WSU to win their last seasonal game. In one respect, however, the two teams are evenly matched - the weather. It's going to be cold and rainy Saturday.

Weber 28-34 Portland St.Vikings can claim the Best Eligible Team not in the Playoffs Award

EWU 34-10 Idaho St. — Last game for the Bengals' vaunted stumble & puke offense

Montana 27-24 Montana St. — Bobcats' weak punt game costs them a little too much field position

Davis 17-21 Sac StateUnderachieving Hornets at least manage to win the Causeway

Suutah 28-35 NAU5-6 is destiny…

Entertaining to a point, but fun? It is just like any other team message board, a lot of people saying how great their team is and how terrible their opponent that week is. I realized awhile back that you learn more having a discussion with people who disagree with you than with people who agree with you. That's why I like it both here and on AGS, and why I stay away from the PSU team boards as well.

Except on eGriz you get much more of the talk about how the team is terrible no matter how many games they win & how well they perform.

You mean the Breaking News about how JJ got his arm torn clean off by a snow blower, went to the hospital and the doc is rebuilding him a new one and how Pflu said JJ will be a game time decision...isn't real?
