I-AA Game of the Week - WEEK 12
What is the I-AA game of the week? Guess what... It's NOT Montana/Montana State, sorry folks. Both of those teams are already in the playoffs and are only playing for position. These are the games that will determine the final spots.

If the MEAC were to get two teams (not likely) it would be the winner of this game. And its always an entertaining game. 67,000+

Re: I-AA Game of the Week - WEEK 12
Not really. There is one game where winner is IN, loser is OUT. I'm not sure the MEAC sending two is that much of a long shot and obviously it's the winner of the Florida Classic. I think FAMU would have a better chance of getting a bid than B-CU, but that's pure speculation on my part.DSUrocks07 wrote:The Florida Classic

Re: I-AA Game of the Week - WEEK 12
This Stony Brook Liberty game is huge. Two 7-3 (5-0) teams, who have never been to the playoffs, closely ranked in the polls (I assume we will see that today), one with a huge pass offense and one with a huge run offense. It should be a close and epic matchup for the conference championship and the coveted auto bid to the FCS playoffs!

Has to be Liberty at Stony Brook. This is the game to watch this week and it will be on MASN as usual. Liberty will stop the run and win through the air

Liberty @ Stony Brook is essentially a playoff game. The winner moves on and the loser is done. Show me another matchup with better circumstances.

Liberty and Stony Brook...game is for the Big South Championship, the winner goes onto the playoffs, the loser gets an early start to the offseason program.

Re: I-AA Game of the Week - WEEK 12
So a potential #1/2 vs #5/6 matchup is not one of the best 9 games in FCS?

Re: I-AA Game of the Week - WEEK 12
Liberty vs Stony Brook is the most intriguing game of the week. It could be an offensive barn burner like Towson vs UNH was last week. I think it's which defense takes advantage of turnovers wins this game and gets the automatic Big South Bid.
Re: I-AA Game of the Week - WEEK 12
I agree with this game being game of the week. If Portland State wins while (of course) Montana loses to the Bobcats, the Vikings will be 8-3, 6-2 and tied for second with the Griz in the Big Sky Conference.andy7171 wrote:Weber State v. Portland State
It'll put some pressure on the selection committee to pick a somewhat hot 6 win team. The committee might give the Vikings a break as poor scheduling, which was not entirely their fault, didn't give them much of an opportunity to get to the 7 win magic number.
I like the idea of forcing the committee to make some tough choices. If the tourney had 24 teams this year the Vikings would be a shoe in.

Just because we're both in the playoffs doesn't mean that shouldn't be in the options for game of the week. That said, Cat/griz is the game of the week.

Hey, you're entitled to your opinion and you can also make your own poll every week.CatBlitz22 wrote:He can read. And so can I. Doesn't mean it's not lame.89Hen wrote: So you don't like to read?![]()

I understand your reasoning, but to exclude a top 5 matchup from the game of the week poll just seems weird to me. It's not like both teams will be resting their starters for the playoffs.

ECB, they would rather pick a game that will determine the last team in rather than a top 5 seedcatbob wrote:I understand your reasoning, but to exclude a top 5 matchup from the game of the week poll just seems weird to me. It's not like both teams will be resting their starters for the playoffs.

Liberty-Stony Brook. And I'm pulling for SB because one of my partners is a graduate!
