Big Sky week 10

Post by Wildcat Ryan »

Nov 5th

Sacramento State @ Portland State- Portland State runs over the Hornets

Montana State @ Weber State- Montana State is clicking and Weber State has given up

Northern Colorado @ Northern Arizona - The balanced attack of NAU is too much for the Bears

Western Oregon @ Montana- Ho-hum

Pretty easy this week as we know where all the teams stand by this point
PSU
MSU
NAU
Montana (WOU is pretty good, if we try to sleepwalk through the game they could put a scare in us)

Sacramento State @ Portland State- I think PSU wins this, they are headed in the right direction.

Montana State @ Weber State- I hope the kitties can cough up a hairball, but I don't see it happening this week.

Northern Colorado @ Northern Arizona - NAU should roll in this one.

Western Oregon @ Montana- We better roll these guys and get ready for Griz-Cat[/quote]

Kind of OT, but does anyone know the last time, if ever, the Brawl was between two top 10 teams?

Sacramento State @ Portland State- Mr. Tiger has made vast improvements in Vikingland, but the Hornets come out p!$$ed.

Montana State @ Weber State- I don't believe Weber has quit, but neither do I believe that MSU will lose this game. I think it'll be about a 2 TD spread.

Northern Colorado @ Northern Arizona - My upset special. NAU comes out flat after their huge road win spoiling Sac's season.

Western Oregon @ Montana- Half-speed blowout.

Maybe not as easy. It seems all year, once you think you know how things are, everything gets turned upside down. I'm not going to give my picks yet, but some interesting matchups.

Sac St/PSU---Hornets are 1-0 in Oregon so far this year and want a big conference win. Is PSU back or was last week just one game?

MSU/WSU---The Bobcats never were comfortable in their last road game and Ogden is certainly tougher than Greeley.

UNC/NAU---A good indication of how much better the Bears are now than at the start of the year. For NAU, a similar story as PSU.

WOU/UM---OK, maybe this one is easy.

Sac State 21-34 Portland St.Scheduled-out-of-the-Playoffs should beat Choked-out-of-the-Playoffs

NoCo 24-38 NAUThe Bears are playing better offensively, but their D still can't cover anyone

Montana St. 35-24 Weber — Hoke should be back, but that won't be enough

Woregon 10-41 MontanaJJ needs to play well again because the Wolves have a solid run defense

Apparently not. We've lost in Greeley recently, but haven't lost in Ogden since the Unabomber was arrested.

In just about every BSC statistic the Vikings are comfortably above Sac State. Will that matter come game time? I'd say yes. PSU 42 Sac State 24.

Heading into the home stretch and I am at 39-11 for the year and in search of perfection once again. Only four games on the docket in the conference this week and I'm done pretty well when there is only four games. However, this week may be a bit tougher as we get close to the end. Here are my predictions for the week of November 5.

Western Oregon at UM---The Grizzlies take a break from the Big Sky conference schedule and welcome DII Western Oregon. The Wolves may be a much better foe than the Western State teams the Grizzlies have played in years past. However, that does not mean a different result...UM 47, Western Oregon 14.

MSU at WSU---The Bobcats are still striving for the conference title while the Wildcats hopes for anything took a serious blow at Montana last week. The Bobcats may have caused some nervousness among their fanbase when they play on the road, but they do seem to be able to survive. No change here...MSU 31, WSU 27.

UNC at NAU---The Bears have been improving and the team that maybe should have beaten North Dakota last week is not the same team that lost to Lindenwood the opening season. The Lumberjacks got a big road win last week against a strong Sacramento State squad. The big question is can the Bears get their first win. Ummmm, no...NAU 25, UNC 21.

Sac State at PSU---Many teams had Eastern Washington on the ropes in a strong quest by the conference to put the Eagles away. The Hornets had them pretty much dead until EWU came storming back and stole the game in overtime. Only the Vikings last week were able to find a capable dagger to put the Eagles out of their misery. So who gets the win here?...PSU 42, Sac State 20.

Note: It scares me, frinq, when we seem to think alike. I hope the Vikings don't prove me wrong here. :thumb:

I sure hope PSU is ahead of Sac State in the stats, they had 2 non-D1 opponents to pad them. Rumor is Fleming will play this week. I think PSU still wins but not by the large margin you and J have predicted.

Sacramento State @ Portland State: 35-28 Portland State gets by. Kicking woes continue for the Hornets.

Montana State @ Weber State: 31-20 Montana State rolls over the imploding Wildcats.

Northern Colorado @ Northern Arizona: 37-10 NAU rolls to an easy win.

Western Oregon @ Montana: 45-10 UM cruises in this exhibition game.

I'm going with the flow except for Northern Colorado, they're ready for a solid win.

Portland State 34 Sacramento 22
MSU 42 Weber 17
Northern Colorado 27 NAU 22
UM 39 Western Oregon 3

SDhornet - If I'm not mistaken, the Big Sky stats are conference only, don't include non-conference games.

We certainly got back to looking like we have all year in this one. WO was a little better than I thought they would be and we sure didn't execute very well on offense again.

Excluding the Weber game, you are spot on with that comment, GFSIU! :thumb:
