PSU has gone through some weird schedules over the last ten years; one year 3 FBCs, then mostly 2 FBCs, then this year when we schedule of all things an NCCAII and NCAAIII. OK, I'll accept that Burton came in to find a dead team; some easy games were necessary to build confidence. But no more! Next year will certainly be scheduled more strongly now that we've proved we can play with the big boys.
We've got Washington already on the schedule next year. We do not play Montana, Sac State or Weber State next year so it would be nice to get one of those teams on board. But I am sure Chisholm and his bunch will make sure we get Boise State on the schedule and add in Pacific from Forest Grove. Then, when we get booted by Boise, we can schedule Linfield. Why even try to schedule FCS, we haven't played anyone in nonconference affiliated with the FCS since McNeese State in 2007 (other than Davis). But hey, we have to play the Pac-whatever number they are now, and Willamette.
Also, Southern Oregon is not even DII. They are NAIA, which makes our schedule one of the worst in FCS. Thanks to our athletic department who does not have the guts to do home and homes, we scheduled ourselves out of the playoffs, just like 2006.
