Still really early. But I think the argument could be made that UM doesn't play too well on the road this year.Silenoz wrote:Derp, Sac State game Montana is showing up

33-0 at Idaho State earlier. But I do agree against the good teams. Really no one is lighting it up on the road in conference play. Bobcats just had a TD called back, 31-21 at Northern Colorado.EWURanger wrote:Still really early. Re: Big Sky football Week 8
Huge pass play for UM down inside the NAU 5.
Jordan Johnson gets lit up on an option read.
UM stopped on 3d down.
4th down goal to go - stopped!

Re: Big Sky football Week 8
Major blown call by the refs against NAU for the 2nd straight year..
Re: Big Sky football Week 8
Dunno.....the running into the punter and the helmet to helmet on the NAU qb looked like legit calls...

Re: Big Sky football Week 8
Call. That was a fumble on the pass to the flats

It's Big Sky refs, I've tried to just learn to live with it.Silenoz wrote:Major blown call by the refs against NAU for the 2nd straight year..
Terrible play call on that 4th and goal.
Re: Big Sky football Week 8
Wow, once again we come out flat, and once again we may come storming back. Could easily be 14-14 just like that
Re: Big Sky football Week 8
Hopefully with the supposed TV contract coming out and all Big Sky games being televised we can get replay. That'd at least mitigate the terrible officiating some.....maybe.

Does ANYONE in FCSland have that? The powers that be in B(C)$land may try to forbid us from having it. That way, our coaches won't understand the system when we go to their place and their bogus monopoly can continue.EWURanger wrote:Hopefully with the supposed TV contract coming out and all Big Sky games being televised we can get replay. SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

I remember reading somewhere that a FCS conference was bringing it in this season. Can't remember which one.SuperHornet wrote:Does ANYONE in FCSland have that? I've only seen replay in FCS vs. FCS situations for the ESPN televised playoff games.SuperHornet wrote:Does ANYONE in FCSland have that? No replay allowed on the questionable penalty calls and no calls.EWURanger wrote:Hopefully with the supposed TV contract coming out and all Big Sky games being televised we can get replay. That'd at least mitigate the terrible officiating some.....maybe.

4/6.....The UM-NAU and WSU/SUU games could have gone either way, though.EWURanger wrote:Montana State @ Northern Colorado - Montana State rolls
Montana 21 @ Northern Arizona 28 - NAU in a close one. This pick may raise some eyebrows, but NAU is balanced offensively and plays tough at home. If NAU can get an early lead and force Montana into a shoot-out type game, they will win.
Southern Utah 13 @ Weber State 27 - SUU could make it close, but I expect WSU to win this game at home.
Willamette 3 @ Portland State 34 - Even with the loss of McCaffrey, this won't be close.
Eastern Washington 31 @ Sacramento State 28 - The playoffs started 3 weeks ago for Eastern, and Mitchell is on fire right now. Eags keep Sac off-balance with a modest running game and win a tight one in Sacramento to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Idaho State 7 @ BYU 48 -

Re: Big Sky football Week 8
3-3 and there went my perfect October. Puts me at 36-9 for the year. Hard to imagine the only home teams to win were the FBS game and the lower division game. The road teams are getting better.JALMOND wrote:Having a bit of an oddity in that there are six games on the Big Sky docket this late in October. What it means is there are six chances to improve on my current mark of 33-6 and being perfect for the month. Some good games and a couple that may be easy to predict. Here are my predictions for the week of 10-22...
EWU at Sac State---An interesting matchup to say the least. Two teams with high expectations coming into the year, yet the circumstances are that the loser of this game will be all but out of most playoff scenarios. The winner, however, will keep their dream season alive. The Eagles have been dodging bullets since their disastrous start and the Hornets have been fairly inconsistent, yet this will only be their second game at home...Sac State 21, EWU 10.
ISU at Brigham Young---Clearly what is emerging with the Bengals is that, instead of a year of making noise (the team, that is), this is a year of adjusting to the new regime. The Bengals will be good someday, but probably not this year. This week, another return to the FBS on the road at Brigham Young. They did not fair too well last week in Utah, and probably won't do much better here...Brigham Young 48, ISU 7.
UM at NAU---Always an interesting take whenever teams come to play the Lumberjacks is the altitude at which the game is played. Combined with the enclosed space and teams used to playing at altitude and with noise can have problems. The Grizzlies have been fairly inconsistent on the road, losing big at Sacramento State but getting a big win at Idaho State. What will it be here?...NAU 28, UM 26.
MSU at UNC---The Bobcats are coasting as the team in the conference. The Bears have been relegated to the worst team. These things are about the only sure teams within the conference currently. Is it worth the Bobcats looking past the Bears, especially closing out the year with both Weber State and Montana. Even if they are looking past the Bears, it shouldn't make a difference...MSU 30, UNC 20.
Willamette at PSU---In a stretch of four tough conference games, the Vikings were able to schedule a DIII to play at home, albeit a pretty darn good DIII team. It may be a good workout to see who can replace McCaffrey for the rest of the year. Willamette is good, and they own the overall series over the Vikings, but the Vikings starters should not be in the game much past halftime, unless they are still trying people out...PSU 49, Willamette 20.
Southern Utah at WSU---A preview of years to come in the Big Sky as the Wildcats finally have an instate "rival" to play. Whether it replaces the long standing rivalry with Idaho State remains to be seen, but Southern Utah is good, having already beaten Sacramento State and also has a big win over UNLV. They would enjoy a road win at the expense of WSU. However, it won't happen...WSU 34, Southern Utah 17.
Another opportunity to keep my perfect October going.

Got em all again this week. First one was closer than I thought but always seems to come out that way between these two.GrizFanStuckInUtah wrote:Montana State @ Northern Colorado- Kitties won't loose this one even if they play poorly
Montana @ Northern Arizona- Griz have NAU's number but I bet this one is really close and the Griz squeak one out.![]()
Southern Utah @Weber State- I think SUU will come out and play better than they have in conference play, they can play well at times......
Willamette @ Portland State- Vikes better roll and get some good practice in.
Eastern Washington @ Sacramento State- Eags have their backs against the wall and keep fighting.
Idaho State @ BYU- Glad I can't go to this one, should be over with about 14:59 to play in the first quarter.
