UNC @ EWU
Should be a relatively easy win for EWU, then again, South Dakota was supposed to be as well. USD however has proved they are a good team over the first half of the season, whereas the Bears are one of the worst in FCS, losing by an average margin of more than 21 points.

Re: UNC @ EWU
So now that the game is safely over, I can safely admit that a friend of my girlfriend's (who is from Denver) bet me $100, while extremely intoxicated, that UNC would beat EWU today.
Silenoz, your check will be in the mail as soon as I get payment from him.

UNC should have taken their ball and gone home.BigSkyBears wrote:Your QB picked on our true freshman CB's. Not fair.

There was a miniature wolf found dead right behind my tailgate yesterday. Any suspects?

I don't count moral victories, but this was a pretty close game through out. Several things stand out for me on UNC's side.
-We need a better offensive line, way too many sacks and no holes for the running backs.
- We need bigger wide receivers. Losing Jace Davis has hurt us more than I expected.
- Young DB's are struggling now, but will become better.
-Seth Lobato has some great upside. He will continue to get better.
For EWU.
-Proves what a great QB can do for your program.
-Very well coached.
-Good depth at several key positions.

Re: UNC @ EWU
UNC played a decent game and really had a better passing attack than I would have figured. If Lobato is only a Freshman, then I think he has a great future ahead of him. Good size, good arm, and makes good decisions for the most part. Not very mobile, but that can be overcome with improved O-Line play and more experience receivers. I thought a couple of your young receivers were pretty darn good. Not big, but very quick. I was disappointed in how our secondary played, I thought with Gibbs back in the rotation we'd have played a little better than that.BigSkyBears wrote:I don't count moral victories, but this was a pretty close game through out. UNC kept it pretty close in the first half and a little into the third quarter, but to say it was close throughout is a little exaggerated, IMO. It was 41-20 at the end of the third quarter when we pulled our starters.
We have decent depth at some positions, and basically no depth at others (O-Line). Two more starters were held out of this game due to injuries from the NAU game, so we are hurting pretty bad right now in that regard. It's almost comical the number of kids out for the season or trying to get healthy enough to get back into the lineup.

Re: UNC @ EWU
Lobato is a Sophomore. He does need help for sure on the O-line. I though they would be better this year. Demitri Stimphil is a good young receiver, just a true freshman. If hits the weights and grows a few inches, he and Jace Davis (if he comes back) will be a good receiving tandem for us in the future. I thought the turnovers we had came in the 4th qt, that's why I said it was close through out. My bad.EWURanger wrote:UNC played a decent game and really had a better passing attack than I would have figured. If Lobato is only a Freshman, then I think he has a great future ahead of him.
