Ah. So the problem isn't WHERE they work, but whether or not this fine upstanding young American citizen decides to commit fraud? :coffee:
He's in China, the corruption will rub off on him sooner or later.

Surprise surprise, not much coverage from the mainstream media.. wonder why?
Plenty of coverage on Fox News Channel.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

saw this floating around the interwebs
The proper recommendations (or demands) to improve the economy and boost employment:
1. repeal of Obamacare (especially the various mandates: purchase of health insurance by every citizen; acceptance of patients with pre-existing conditions)
2. implementation of a proportional income tax never to exceed 5% of pay, without loop-holes
3. repeal of the amendment XVI (...that's right, fuck the previous line) (but skip this if repeal is too hard)
4. constitutional provision to require any tax on the values of every trade of interstate and international goods to be a proportional tax
5. fixing of the the public debt ceiling to 100% of revenue
6. constitutional provision to cap public spending at a fixed percentage never to exceed 10% of GDP so long as GDP is determinable
7. constitutionally affirmed abolition of the federal reserve bank
8. abolition of the institution of bankruptcy: no more bailouts for anyone!
9. end of mandatory minimum wage in the private sector
10. the students of schools receiving funds from the federal state are to be subject to the most severe regulations of campus upkeep, and violators will be subject to imprisonment for the entire duration of summer iff they have no summer job prospects upon the day VII of summer (might be tongue-in-cheek)
MEAC, last one out turn off the lights.

So the question is, what do we do about it? Is there anything that we can do? Or do we just recognize and learn the rules so we understand them?

So you don't think the system can be less rigged? Do you not think public protests led to positive change in the past? I think you might be confusing the productivity of the current protesters with the legitimacy of the gripe.

The problem these protesters has is the lack of a cohesive unifying message. They want jobs, redistribution of wealth, reduction in corporate greed, less government bailouts of Wall Street, and penalties for companies that reward good employees with extreme pay. Some of it I get (a little) but they seem to be protesting for the sake of protesting without a good spokesperson(s) to effectively communicate their message. I agree that in the past a lot of positive change has happened from orderly protests, but they generally were somewhat organized and had a coherent message to present for the masses to really get behind. I'm no 1%er, but I don't really have a problem with people who selected more lucrative fields than I did getting rewarded for it - investment banking is pretty cutthroat from what I understand and the best and the brightest can be cut for making a single mistake - it's classic risk/reward, and their compensation programs reflect that. :twocents:

No offense to the schmuck's, but this ain't the civil rights movement, or the Vietnam protestors. Most of these dopes don't have a clue as to why they are actually there, they just hit a bad patch of ground, and instead of getting up and dusting themselves off, they wanna whine about it. Fuck that. The system isn't rigged that badly. It is what it always has been. I'm a perfect example. My great grandfather was a share cropper in SE Georgia. Never owned a damn thing. He sent his son to the upstate of South Carolina with what little he could save to find a job in the textile industry. He did, and worked his ass off, scrimped, saved, did without, and was able to send his son to college (with the help of the GI bill) to become an engineer. My dad worked as an engineer for 40 years and in the process was able to send me and my siblings to college and grad school. We all chose our careers wisely and have been successful, and have made sure that my parents never had to worry about a damn thing until they died this past June. I am the culmination of all of their hard work, sacrifice, and forthought. Do I feel sorry for some fucking Craft Studies major who can't find a job in her field, or some bozo who works at Best Buy because he pissed away his youth and didn't plan for the future? Hell no.

We have had one hell of a bad time the last few years. It's been coming a long time though, and anyone with half a brain could see that. I remember the day I knew it was gonna get ugly. I was driving down the highway past a local manufacturing facility. They were changing shifts, and almost to a man, every car that drove out of that lot was a high end luxury vehicle. I called my partner and told him we needed to start planning for the shit to hit the fan. We made adjustments in our business model and luckily it looks like we will weather this downturn. A lot of the shit these fuckers are protesting, they brought on themselves. Cry me a fucking river.

You want the world to be fair? What fairy tale do you live in?

I tend not to feel bad for someone bitching about no job/money when they have the most recent iPhone, iPad, iMac, piece of technology and what not.

If they'd have spent that money more wisely (you know, saved it) rather than blowing thousands of dollars on items they don't need they wouldn't have to bitch.

The retards protesting can protest all they want but if they wanted to get something done they might have wanted to not only refine the message but just have one in the first place other than "I'm not as good at life as others seem to be". Opie from O&A is a fairly liberal thinking dude and he wen't down to the occupy thing to see what the tone was and get a feel for the protest. He was sort of set back to see the complete lack of any discernable message or discussion or focus on a problem.

You want to be a hippie or a general non productive scumbag then who cares? Join a commune and go out and live off the land and disconnect if you want to...hell, I like hippie chicks so I might give it up and come out and turn some soil with you and dive into some of that congo bush while we're sitting around smoking some hash.

If you think you ought to be given shit in spite of the fact that your some tattoo faced asswipe that bucks the system but wants to be accepted as part of it anyway then fuck off. They are eating the corporate pizza, eating the corporate Ben & Jerry's ice cream, and using the corporate Iphones/& other smart phones while railing against the corporations.

These are the same unproductive douchebags that they were a few years ago but now they are doing what they usually do in full view of the public. Opie's videos gave me a pretty good laugh at the idiot circus.
