NH SOS: We Will Protect Our Primary

Post by UNHWildCats »

New Hampshire Secretary of State Bill Gardner today said the state is prepared to hold its Presidential Primary as early as December 6 if forced to by other states continue attempting to move to early January.

New Hampshire law mandates that the Secretary of State must schedule the primary at east 7 days ahead of a similar election.

If New Hampshire was forced to move its date to December 6, Iowa would be forced to move its caucus to November 26.

If Nevada, the state currently most threatening to the New Hampshire date doesn't finalize its date by the end of October when New Hampshire closes its filing period, Gardner could proactively set the date for December 6 instead of waiting for Nevada to make its move.

This is getting ridiculous. Why doesn't NH just do its 2012, 2016 and 2020 primaries now and get 'em over with?
