Not enough time has gone by to say whether or not they are consistently one of the best teams in the MVFC or FCS. A lot of posters say you haven't done nothing, only made the playoffs once......well $hit give us a little time to accumulate a MVFC and FCS resume. UNI is still top dog in the MVFC, until NDSU knocks them off in my opinion, but I do believe the Bison are going to be one of the two to three top teams in the MVFC year and year out. They haven't done that yet granted, but are beginning to show signs of it from late last year and carrying on into this year. NDSU has the things to be successful: 1) Great Fan Support 2) Money 3)Great Facilities and a winning tradition, so that is exactly why I believe we will be in the top of the MVFC most years and in the playoffs most years, but all this is still yet to be proven. Really hoping both UNI and NDSU are still undefeated in the conference come 10/29.....would make for an awesome game! I still give UNI the edge in that game as of right now....both teams have great defenses, but UNI is much more consistent on the offensive side of the ball.
Here's an idea: why don't YOU, lakestard, and the other beefalo mouth-breathers wait until you build some sort of resume, instead of acting like you're God's gift to the subdivision-like you idiots have done since day 1. Christ. :tothehand:
Thats exactly what I am saying in my post...that 4 or 5 years is not enough time to build a real resume. I also stated that UNI is still the best in the conference, so how is my post acting like we our God's gift?!

clenz wrote: Did NDSU look real good during their transition? Sure. But go back and look at their schedules from 06 and 07....the best team they played, by record, was 6-5 I believe. That was a Cal Poly or Cal Davis team. Any team with any semblance of talent should run wild over a schedule of teams that are .500 or worse.

Look what happened in 08 when NDSU finally joined a real conference. They were the unanimous pick to win the MVFC, had all kinds of hype/players back from that undefeated 07 team, started the season ranked #1/2...and missed the playoffs...I believe they beat only one team with a winning record that year in conference play.
Little of what you have said here is factual. I know UNI fans like to discredit the 2007 Bison team for some reason but at least do it with facts. The team played four teams with a record better than 6-5, including an FBS team that won their conference(yes we actually played a decent FBS team).

We did have a lot of hype in 2008 and some talented players returning from the 2007 team. But Nate Safe(along with two other starting OL), Joe Mays(best LB in school history) and Steve Walker(best QB in school history) graduated. The players filling their positions couldn't come close to filling their shoes. So lets not even pretend that the 2008 team was similar to the 2007 team. All they were was hype and most of the team bought into that hype, they got their ass kicked because of it.

NDSU needs to run the table this year, win this title (LIKE THEY SHOULD OF LAST YEAR!) and then leave this rinky dink outfit and hit the FBS.
Shut the FVCK up you raging idiot. In one post you have managed to diss the entire division that we are part of and will be part of for many years. And you wonder why people look at you as a laughing stock? Mod's ban this fool PLEASE!
No way don't ban Lakes. He gives us people a reason to laugh at...ooops I mean laugh with.

He's just responding to lakes being lakes.

I agree that we have what it takes to be successful year in and year out. But only time will tell. We are not fully there yet. Two 1 1/2 good seasons doesn't make a dynasty :thumb:

NDSU struggled out their ass against the team you have 7th in the conference and you make it sound as though it was a big win.

Oh, let's add this....just so you know...about the UNI/ISU game. ISU's only TD came with 1 minute left in the half after UNI fumbled at their own 11 yard line trying to run the clock out. Then in the second half UNI had a pick 6 called back on a very bad defensive holding call (watched the replay 10 times and it was a terrible call).....those two plays right there is a 13 point swing and would have made the game 30-3
NDSU has been my #1 all year. I am doubtful I am going to change it until UNI-NDSU meet up, or if NDSU is upset. That NDSU defense is damn good!

Well when the best team you've played this year is the Big 10's gutter slop, Minnesota you'd better look good on D. UNI has played at LEAST 2-3 teams better da Goffers. If they let Jewell Hampton run over them then they'd better hope they can "cheap shot" Bell or else the Fargo Dome will need some turf replacement. :twocents:

WHY do you UNI fans take insult with my power rankings? They are MY power rankings. These have absolutely NOTHING to do with the playoffs and I highly doubt anyone uses them in putting together their Top 25 poll. If you don't like them, that is fine, but please realize they have no bearing whatsoever on the playoff race.

I don't mind criticism, but I've stuck with NDSU all spring, summer, and thus far this season as the #1 team in the league. I've watched each team play this year on the web and I believe NDSU is the better of the two. Time will tell.

I must ask....what, at this point in the season, has NDSU done to prove they are a stronger team than UNI...Other than you not wanting to shuffle the top two because neither has lost an FCS game.

Is it the thumping of a 1 win 30 scholarship St. Francis team? The thumping of a 1 win non-scholly Lafeyette? The pure showing of unadulterated force in their 9-3 win over a sub .500 SIU team? The W over Illinois state (even though Illinois State is sub .500 and outgained NDSU by 70 yards?).

I know it is that NDSU beat their FBS opponent.....right? That FBS school that has been outscored 103-17 their last two games (and an average of 35-18 on the season), and whose only win came against a hapless MAC team? UNI lost by 1 to a Iowa State team that would beat that Minnesota team by 15.

I'm not going to brag up the UNI schedule because SFA has fallen flat on their face, but head to head UNI has played a little better schedule through this point in the year, and has looked better doing it.

If you are going to put these up be prepared to justify them beyond the "I've had them there and I"m not going to move them because I've had them there"....that's a dumbass way to defend something, and and even more dumbass way to rank teams.

I have no problem with NDSU being #1

Their win over Minnesota is still a win at the end of the day. I wonder if that game will start counting against NDSU in computer rankings? MN is dropping like a NASA satellite. Sagarin has them currently as the 15th worst FBS team. Ranked right below Cal Poly (2-3) in fact.

The best part of all this is that we play in the FCS which means at the end of the year the rankings are not what counts. The playoffs and what you do in them against the best competition that the FCS has to offer is all that matters. I have no problem with people arguing back and forth their points but it's all just talk. The playoffs will do the talking at the end of the season and the pretenders will go home and eventually the champion will have earned the title of champion not some BS ranking system or bowl system. Carry On

What's the waver.

I'll set it. If MSU wins over 2.5 MVFC games I'll send you a UNI t-shirt.

If they don't....I get a Northwest Missouri State t-shirt. I have no interest in a SWOMO shirt.

Fine...O/U of 2.

1 I win, 2 it's a push, 3 you win.

Loras? Hell no. I'm a Wartburg man when it comes to the IIAC

I still won't hold you to it if MSU doesn't cover the bet....
