Re: W&M at Delaware - the "Run the Table" game
At 6-5 JMU team that beat #13 FBS Virginia Tech, lost at the last second to top-5 Delaware and Richmond in OT, and upset the #1 team in FCS in the 2nd to last week of the season and winning their last 2 to close it out, did not get in. JMU had the best resume any 6-5 will ever have and did not get in Nor did a 7-4 (6-4) MOntana team who had played a DII ... I think the committee made it clear that 6 win teams would not make the playoffs.

Re: W&M at Delaware - the "Run the Table" game
UPDATE: DeMarco did NOT suffer a stress fracture as feared. He is currently "available" for the URI game this Saturday. Now that Heinike lost his redshirt, he may still start with DeMarco in the bullpen.CAA Flagship wrote:That's crazy talk. ODU lost their starting QB with his 27 starts and are turning to a true freshman. We lost our #1 RB (Jr) before the season and just lost our #2 RB (Soph). Now we are turning to our #3 RB (RS Fr) and #4 RB (Fr). Our starting RG played last week with a torn bicep last week but not sure if he will last. We lost our #1 cover corner before the season and are relying on a true freshman to fill in (although he is playing OK so far).Dukie95 wrote:I'm thinking that one of these two teams will be out of the playoffs, and ODU will be in.
This may be just the beginning of the injury train that everyone experiences. The problem is that we get very youthful when we lose a starter. We are now playing 10 true freshman.
Don't put us in the playoffs yet.

Any of this has what to do with UD / W&M????CAA Flagship wrote:UPDATE: DeMarco did NOT suffer a stress fracture as feared. He is currently "available" for the URI game this Saturday. Re: W&M at Delaware - the "Run the Table" game
Yes. Dukie felt that one of those two teams will be out of the playoffs and ODU in. I was just explaining that our team is losing a lot of experience as the season goes on. Hence the update. I'm not going to start a new thread over it, so I felt I would update what I said in response to Dukie putting us in the playoffs already. I didn't bring up ODU in the first place so don't shoot the realist. I'm not like some of my blue brethren. You should know that by now.bluehenbillk wrote:Any of this has what to do with UD / W&M????CAA Flagship wrote: UPDATE: DeMarco did NOT suffer a stress fracture as feared. For the record, I said one of the two teams would be out, not both.

Vagazette is a fitting newspaper for both W&M and ODU.

Hey. That's a Williamsburg publication. It has nothing to do with ODU. Stay focused. You are about to be looking up at us in the standings.93henfan wrote:It's a good thing 89 got it first because I was going there.Tribe4SF wrote:

Anyone else find it odd that on Tuesday night you can announce a guy has an illness that would keep him out of Saturday's game?
My bet: Menstrual cramps

Meanwhile we can expect Donnelly to get into the flow of the offense.
If Paulus can find his old form, it's still game on.
Tribe defense will be called upon again to keep things close - what's new.

That was my first thought, what could he possible have that they know will take him out of the game on Saturday. The only thing i could think was that maybe it's an intense stomach bug that's not going to let him practice all week.

Most of what comes to mind that would knock you out 4 days ahead of the game is scary $h!#. Mono could be a problem... or maybe he's just sick of football... Hope whatever it is he recovers completely and hastily.mcveyrl wrote:bluehenbillk wrote:Anyone else find it odd that on Tuesday night you can announce a guy has an illness that would keep him out of Saturday's game?

Re: W&M at Delaware - the "Run the Table" game
I have a hard time hating W&M, and I've been to some heartbreaking games against them, most notably the '04 playoff game down there.
I need a reason to hate them. The stupid griffin mascot and the homecoming "queen" only make me feel sorry for them.

Re: W&M at Delaware - the "Run the Table" game
Even if Paulus is back under center, W&M's best (by far) WR is out. An unsettled QB, injuries to the OL, DE, and OLB and playing at the Tub makes beating UD a serious uphill battle. At least our younger guys are seeing some PT.
