It's an opportunity for redemption for UM, nothing more - if they win handily (as they likely will) they will feel like they exorcised us from the fanbase. The huge paycheck will be cheap by comparison.

after reading some commentary, it's actually quite smart of a decision if App is in the process of going FBS. Yeah they may lose by 50, but they'll have money to get them out of the financial hole and publicity for recruiting.

Win-win for us. We get a highly-publicized game with Michigan, a lot of money, and we don't have to play in Lake Charles in August.

Hey, we come out winners either way. You can never take away the first game and the fact you paid big monetarily for an opening day loss. And you're paying again for us to return in 2014. It's fine, we look forward to giving UM the opportunity to salvage a .500 record against an FCS/Div IAA opponent. But I'd think you could have bought a cheaper victory just south of Ann Arbor inToledo....oh wait...nevermind....

I would tend in this direction as the game will most likely get major hype in the media, and UM will be looking for major payback. They would most likely prefer whipping Appalachian to beating The OSU that year, and exorcising that Mountaineer Curse on their backs.

Difference being that I don't bash the FCS...nor claim Michigan over UNI on any board.

I'm an FCS fan first....If UNI were to ever play Michigan I'd go in a UNI shirt....something that most Iowa fans that go to UNI games against other FCS teams can't say.
