Yes I read that. I've stated that for years and have said many times on this site that it will never happen. Politicians won't do anything that is in the best interest of us. If it might hurt thier re-election, it won't happen.

spoke to a man today for one of my clients and the guy hasn't worked in 2 years. Advised of him of all the hirings going on here in upstate South Carolina and how my client is expecting payment for services rendered to him. He proceeded to start cussing me, and telling me to have "common sense" as it relates to the economy (Per Obama, the recession ended in June 2009). I reminded him his telephone bill seemed to always get paid. He then proceeded to curse me more. It's too bad he hung up, I was gonna give him D1B's number.

If you opt out of healthcare, you start immediately experiencing health problems. if you move far away from work, you immediately experience car trouble. If you talk to the guy about joining the union, you get let go from your job....etc., etc., etc.

Anyone can do it. Most community colleges in the country are dirt cheap, if not free. Work two jobs in the summers to save up enough to pay for kliving expenses during the school year. Pay your own way through the first 65-70 hours, get that A.B. degree, and make grades good enough to earn schollies for the last two years. Even if you don't get the schollies, you only need to carry enough student loans to pay for a couple of years' tuition.

People don't want merely a safety net. They want a guaranteed damm life style - unearned though it might be.

Big deal. It's what I did for four years in college and what millions of people do as they make sacrifices to climb up to something better.

Although I love dogs, I had no pet because I could not afford one.

I drove a sh!t car - when I had enough $$ for gas.

I ate peanut butter and tuna fish, but did not have enough $$ for ice cream.

Other than beer on some weekends when I had some spare change for PBR, I did not have enough $$ for "entertainment" expenses, but I had a very rich and interesting life anyway.

I lived in sh!tholes in the summers so I could save money for school from my farm labor jobs.

There are plenty of government and non-profit employees who are capable, intelligent, honest, fair-minded, and even a few who work hard and accomplish something useful. (Ibby and CID come to mind.) However, D has demonstrated nothing on these boards to indicate that he might be one of them.

In the second place, do not bet the lives of your family that D will keep his promise to "be there ... to take care of you or your family..." Do not let him anywhere near your family.
