Agreed! Its embarrassing playing in a glorified HS Gym.
Quit giving the facility compliments. The place is not a glorified HS gym. It's a junior high dump or worse.

Are there any place to replace it?

The only options I know of are to return to the downtown convention center, which has operatic seating and lighting, and that gave us a home-court DISadvantage and ARCO, which would look HORRIBLE due to the cavernous empty seating. There was talk of a new arena, but it was deleted after a student vote with a typical Sac administration bait-and-switch.

Ever wonder why UOP and not Sac was the official school sponsor of the NCAAT at ARCO? I've never figured that one out myself.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Never noted that about the tourney.

Great use of the stimulus money would be to build new basketball arenas for Sac and NAU :)

Sac State seats 1,200

NAU has plans for a new arena, don't think it will be anytime soon though. The Skydome was designed as a multi-purpose facility - to house football, basketball, indoor track, and hockey (back when NAU had a team).
