lakes, this game is, in all honesty, an exhibition game. It has ZERO to do with the regular season. In fact, if NDSU were to focus a little more on their conference games and by a little less obsessed with their big brother to the east perhaps they could actually do better than .500 in conference play just ONCE, and then be convinced they're ready for prime time.

If I were the rest of the MVFC I'd be offended at an attitude like yours....and if I were part of the MVFC I'd vote to send your sorry asses packing back to the GWFC. :coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

I call BS friz. This is FBS with a BCS conference in our honeyhole for.recruiting.
Media exposure is a big deal.nowadays to recruits!

Thus, this game means more to NDSU. we can always get into the playoffs and win a couple
Games, not even worried about it.

Plus 25,000+ fans will be there!!

First of all this is a division 1 game and only somebody with a grudge would press that issue. Lower division games, IE Minot @ MSU, are exhibition.

What a pandering fool the Gambler is. He claims the FBS games are exhibition and dont have anything to do with the regular season, its an exhibition yet on other threads you applaud UND getting ranked for losing an exhibition. You really arent much more than a pandering fool are you?

You are an entertaining pandering fool big gambling man.

PASSING GAME:

The Gophers have struggled especially on pass defense. They give up 300 yds/game. Against Miami Ohio they gave up 325 and a TD. They arent able to keep up on offense either with around 160 yds/game.

The BISON on the other hand have shown strength in the passing game. The BISON have been putting up 198 yds/game, scoring long, scoring short, good completion average, keeping drives alive with a 43% third down conversion and scoring 2 TDs/game. They have a very good .12 pt/yd showing us a very efficient offense that is scoring on the big play and/or getting the short field. For the BISON its been the big play and defensive scores.

The NDSU defense has been very good too. They have held decent FCS passing teams to an average of 130 yds/game and 1 TD.

The BISON receivers may be young but Holloway is there with his hands and his speed.

It looks to me, even after factoring in the competition level, that the BISON can get their day in the passing game. Give Minnesota its due as well, they can have their day.

Advantage: NDSU BISON

That's high praise coming from the retarded hypocrite known as JaBBer.

What has beating an FBS team gotten Sac State so far? :dunce: :dunce: :dunce: :dunce: Jack SQUAT, that's what.

Beat Minnesoter, but go 4-4 or worse in conference again, have to go on the road repeatedly IF you make the playoffs and see where you end up at the end of the year. Sitting home, watching the NC game on the black & white television in your mom's basement...that's where.

If NDSU focused on beating CONFERENCE foes instead of this wet dream obsession you have with beating hapless Minnesota, you'd be much better off in the long run.

The bison have played two high school teams. The gophers have played two FBS teams. Comparing any statistics between the two teams is comical.

I dont think so gambling man. Since you have proven in the past to be less then well informed and certainly lacking deductive reasoning skills (see previous post) I'll take what you are saying under advisement. Dont call us we will call you.

There is a quality issue when it comes to the statistics. That was covered earlier in the thread. The point is, even after adjustment the BISON are still looking good in the passing game. Its a phase of the game I think the BISON can win. Our defensive backs are shorter than the Gopher receivers but there are no glaring mismatches.

Reveiwing the rushing statistics I didnt include any analysis of the linebackers because they figure in both the running game and passing game. My guess is they are pretty good. They have been stopping teams for under 100 yds/game so far. Because of the talent along the front and no appararent advantage for the Gophers I decided NDSUs superior skill at running back would be the difference. Plus, the success of the passing game is going to force UM Gophers to respect it, opening the running game.

The QB analysis is yet to come.

Unfortunately, there is no point discussing the game on this forum because as soon as any Bison fan contributes something they get jumped on by everyone else and the thread gets derailed within the first page of any Bison related thread.

You alienate everyone around you even your fellow Bison fans. How can you not see that? If you can, why do you do it?

That sucks. Maybe the mods could fix the problem by moving all of JBB's posts to the smack board where they belong.

OK, enough of the distractions. Bison fans, and the rest of the penaut gallery, get down to business. If you cant control yourselves, your petty rivalries and jealousies, you dont belong here.

The big thing, the only thing, the one thing, the first thing, the last thing: Control Marquis Gray. He is their leading rusher. He is an average passer. 2 INTs, 3 TDs. Nothing spectacular but he can run. Hes big 6-4 250 +. If NDSU cant stop him its going to be a lot tougher for the BISON to win this game.

Minnesota Star Tribune talks NDSU BISON:

http://www.startribune.com/sports/gophe ... 37268.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

SPOTLIGHT GAME:
"Make no mistake, this is an important game for us," the coach said. "It's a great thing for NDSU. It's a great thing for the community. We will have exposure all across the country."
Comments run like this:

Oh my, the turnip trucks will be pouring into the big city all week filled with rubes with $20 in their socks! Sunday morning they will be heading west, beat, broke and hungover! Go Gophers!
Then they turn in NDSUs favor:

@gophsnroses - I actually am a Gopher's fan and a Kill fan and believe he will turn this thing around but it ain't gonna be this year...I think everyone realizes that. But the comment about NDSU thinking that playing the Gophers is "the show", I think what they are thinking is, "Here is a Big 10 team we know we can beat, so how can that be bad for our program?" I live in Florida and besides USF I despise FL college teams. However, when you mention the Gophers down here, their fans say that they wouldn't want to schedule the Goph's for their early season non-conference games because they don't wanna stoop that low.
I havent been over to the Gopher Hole yet. I dont think they are sleeping well.
