Cripes, it's got two teams whose campuses are less than 50 miles apart.
If the campuses were 50 miles apart at least one of them would not be in Delaware.
Fact-o-Rama time.

Here in the awesome state of Delaware, we've got 96 miles of real estate running north to south and we're 35 miles across at our widest point. However, Newark resides inside a 12 mile arc that defines our northern border..the only circle used to mark a boundary of a state.

But in a way, you are correct. Anything below the C&D canal is officially Southern Delaware which is usually considered a completely different state than Delaware, so it is really an intrastate-interstate rivalry game. :thumb:

That just makes this game even more of a candidate for GOTW. 8-)

These signatures have a 500 character limit?

What if I have more personalities than that?

So, we should be excited about two teams who got to 2-0 by beating Georgia State, Campbell, Alabama A&M, and Florida A&M?

So then how can we say the CAA is upside down after only 2 games?

So if we lose one game, on the road to UD....we have no chance to win the caa? Are you saying you plan on UD going undefeated?

That's some interesting logic you have there. And for the record....I don't think odu is going to win the caa ha.....I just don't think a loss in game 1 of our first year in the caa....on the road, against a top 5 team in fcs....is going to end all hope for us having a good season. Call me crazy!

Dear crazy,

The "ha" in your post indicates that you recognize that humor can exist in some form. However, you are 81 posts into this thing and you haven't found the sarcasm meter.

One can always hope.
I thought sarcasm, was, you know.......supposed to be "sarcastic". Your post, while fascinating.....was hardly what I would call tongue in cheek. If that is what flies as sarcasm in Delaware than so be it. I guess since I am new here I am unable to pick up on the biting sarcastic undercurrent of "It's what you can say to ODU's chances to win the CAA after Sept. 24. " ;) That post is just far too edgy for me to pick up the humor in it.

No.

Anything north of Smyrna is upstate. For instance, Middletown. Middletown is clearly not "Southern Delaware".

Some would argue that anything north of Milford is not Southern Delaware.

Another simple test to know if you are still in upstate Delaware is this: 1. Go outside. 2. Smell the air. 3. If you can smell a refinery, you are still upstate. 4. If you smell a chicken farm, welcome to Slower Delaware. :D

That is all.

 I little hyperbole, but I do agree that "Southern Delaware" is basically Sussex County. Kent... well that's just land you have to drive through to get to Southern Delaware.

Kent is the only part of Delaware that still harkens back to an earlier time. All the rest is overrun with people from New Jersey.

Far be it for me to argue about "edgy" humor with a guy who calls himself Razor, but you might find it ironic that a couple adjectives for sarcasm are "cutting" and "sharp".

In the meantime, you're newieness has led you to interrupt yet another fascinating conversation, this one about the UD-DSU Game of the Week...a game that drives an undercurrent of "rival" tension between the tongue-in-cheek people of Delaware. Obviously you can see there is a great divide between the people of this state. Middletown, the C & D Canal, Kent County, DogfishHead, Iron Hill...allegiances can be cut across many different lines. There's nothing like it in the world, really.

Did I mention that arc thing? It's about the only thing in Delaware that is not sharp...aside from some of our politicians. We recently had a Governor who didn't graduate from high school.

Hen has admitted that the Big Sky is better. I wasn't long ago that he thought it was just the Montana show. :coffee:

Yet more evidence that UD-DSU is THE Game of the Week: Delaware is a 34 point favorite!!!!

Even the oddsmakers are trying to make the game a focal point for the nation. They're making you an offer you can't refuse. :thumb:
