JMU game 1 attendance announced @ 25,102

Post by JMUpurplehazed »

Looked full to me, the lower bowl was packed, could not see deck II b/c I'm a bit under deck II but from what I could see deck II was packed. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Hoping for some good picks, a plane was circling during the first half...

Great crowd today and kudos to the students for being loud and for staying the whole game. The intro was absolutely awesome with Duke Dog biting the Blue Devil and throwing him to the ground. Very crisp video. Very loud too. Way cool.

IMO and obviously I'm no where even remotely close to being a JMU fan but anything less than that for a home opener (literally) would have been a disappointment.

Sweet looking view from the sky. Then again the smaller stadium the Dukes will play in on Saturday didn't look bad last night either.

I was in the 2nd deck. Were some bare spots, but great crowd. Mostly full stadium. Even rows that looked full might not have been (ex 20-22 people spread out can look like a full row of 26. Some of us are on the uh...rather large side). My row had a couple of rather large folks. Glad I had 2 tickets for myself. Was north of 20K butts in seats.....

Of course, there's a few that are on the other side too....we had five people in four seats. So they technically didn't count our nine month old... :D

By the way, after complaining about the students most of last week, I have to say I was impressed with how most stayed for the whole game. Really helped at the end when CCSU was pinned down at the 5 (noise caused two straight false starts at the 5).

A first class facility. It is literally 1/2 of a BCS stadium.

And maybe more than 1/2 of numerous BCS stadiums. UConn's Rentschler Field comes to mind that I believe only seats around 40K.
