First play of ISU's season they started on the 2 yard line and there was some screw up if it was supposed to be a playaction pass or a hand off. EIU's I don't remember as well. It was a fumble with the ball starting about the 2 or 3 yard line. I don't remember how the fumble happened though.

YSU was a 3 win FCS team last year, and they just hung with a ranked BCS team that won the Big Ten last year, for essentially over three quarters.
If it weren't for Hess' INT that gave MSU the ball inside the redzone, we could very well be talking about a 21-6 game. Regardless for a team that gave up an average of 34 points per game last season in conference play, to hold MSU, the #17 team in America, to 28 is pretty damn good.
Defense looks encouraging! They are the key to this season's success. IF they stay healthy, we may be able to get 7 wins.
