Word is going around in the educated circles that a fairly large contingency of Parde fans are expected to arrive in Fargo. This is welcome, but not unexpected news. The programs with the deepest traditions have the most loyal traveling fan bases.

I know there is a lot of hospitality ready to be extended to each and every Parde fan that makes the trip. Ask for the west lot. It will be interesting to hear from any of those fans how they like the outdoor tailgating and indoor football combination. Might as well have best of both worlds?
I don't think most people are agreeing to that at all. As I said before, you are entitled to your opinion, but you are clearly in the minority.

The fact that most college football, and most major college football is played outdoors should make it clear that most people prefer outdoor football. If the majority prefered indoor football, programs like Michigan, USC, Alabama would be playing indoors.

Seems to me the focus of the FCS world right now is a certain outdoor stadium that has red turf.

I certainly dont want to press the issue, especially with someone so understanding as you seem to be, but there is such a thing as a curve you know. The football dome, as so many are calling it now, is certainly ahead of the curve and may turn out to be a luxury that most simply cant afford. The argument that most dont have a dome is simply an argument saying most dont have the best. We all know that is true.

Maybe most can't afford it. But the teams I mentioned can, and they all choose to play outdoors.

....anyway 3 Lafayette players have been suspended indefinitely following an unknown infraction. The only player of true significance that will be lost is their backup RB.

Lots of news, Ill quote sources:
[url]http://bisonmedia.areavoices.com/[/url wrote:
]There’s a lot of optimism going on at the corner of 19th Avenue North and University Drive and there are a lot of reasons for that. This team seems as cohesive and talented as the 2006 and 2007 teams, but also take note: it is deeper. The offensive line has options and the quarterback spot has two seemingly capable, albeit young, players.
Echoing something I have been saying all year about the NFL quality BISON defensive backfield:
The secondary needs to find a replacement for three departed senior cornerbacks, but sophomore Marcus Williams is on path to be an NFL draft pick.
We know they have decent facilities, just pumped in 33 million, we know thay have good coaching, we know the Pards have 50 scholarship equivalancies, we know they have experience coming back expecially at QB. O'Niel passed for over 2.000 yds last season.

Lafayette gave up an average of 178 yards per game on the ground last year, and the coaches are going to want to showcase their top guy. That said, look for Ojuri to start taking big snaps in the second half if the game gets comfortable.
Last time I checked tickets the top row, KK, was available.

About the receivers:

Really not that worried, and I still think Vraa is going to be the difference maker this season.
So far its all BISON. We have a determined opponent stepping up. Big day, big game.

expect:
1) lopsided score
2) Big running day for the HERD
3) BISON to break it open early. This one is over at the half.
4) Bring your scorecard Good day to watch stats.

Bookmark this post JaBBer, you may learn something:

1) If it isn't over by halftime, NDSU will again not break .500 in the MVC

2) NDSU will lead the MVC in passing yards allowed

If you hadnt proved out to be a total blow-hard last season I might bookmark it! :)

This game has absolutely nothing to do with how NDSUs season will go. To claim it does is to claim idiocy. 8-)

A win is a win. Ask EWU fans. If NDSU wins this game by 3 TDs or more its a rou"gh"t. If the Pards come in to play and make a great game of it we know the predictions about Lafayette being Lehigh/UNI good are true. If its a blow-out we know that The BISON have successfully passed their first test in this, the legendary quest.

If Lafayette comes to play and wins we all get to see Bisonville and other Bison fans go full RETARD.

At least you have one thing going for you, you are neither one of them! 8-) But you do know who I mean.

In the Summer thread I stressed several major themes:

1) NDSU was a building team entering the second year of a new dynasty.
2) The NDSU schedule is a good model for other schools
3) The NDSU roster is loaded with NFL quality talent.
4) The first game was garnering a lot of interest

Now with the season arriving the buzz around this game is really starting to pick up. The local media is starting to echo many of my themes. The BISON have a good team. They think its as good the 2006-2007 teams.
http://ndsubisonsports.areavoices.com/2011/08/28/roster-ravings/ wrote:I just don’t see a lot of weaknesses in this team. In fact, I hardly see any.
Similar echoing of themes here:
http://ndsubisonsports.areavoices.com/2011/08/28/roster-ravings/ wrote:Aside from that, should be an entertaining game, and I’m on record with a 34-13 win predicted. This team reminds me a lot of Robert Morris last season, a good offense without the defense to match.

He predicts the 28 point win I have it 41-13 I think. ! more TD.

Its going to be the place to be everybody knows that. Get ready, it could be a barn burner. Your guess is as good as mine.

Theres not much modesty in BISON CITY right now. Score predictions sound similar to boasts about UNDs game being "nationally" televised. I can guarantee them 1 viewer of the potential 20 million. I love UND football especially these last 3 or 4 years!

Its a nice Jr. Card to the Big Game in the Dakotas Lafayette @ NDSU BISON.

The other big game is SDSU, a proud member of the Dakota Big 3: NDSU, SDSU and USD. SUU is in town on Saturday. WNAX is a good friend when it comes to Jackrabbit football.

So we have 2 big games in the Dakotas: Lafayette @ NDSU and SUU @ SDSU. Too bad both are 6 PM kickoffs. 2 national spotlight games involving Dakota Big 3 members playing at the same time! What a deal... What a weekend, and to lead us in is the Jr. Card on Thursday night.

Latest reports have projected attendance at this game of 17,850. Thats not a sell-out but it is probably a couple thousand more than the UND ESPN national televison audiance.

A good walk-up could sell the game out. As is its going to be a couple hundred under the attendance for openers in recent years.

I doubt very much it will be over by halftime, reference the Robert Morris game. I see a close game into the 3rd quarter. Hopefully the Bison don't underestimate it's opponent from the PL like others are.
