Northern Colorado senior QB Dylan Orms, who started last season, will not be the starter in 2011. Instead, the job has gone to sophomore Seth Lobato. Reports from UNC's message board also indicate that junior Matt Baca, who started 1 game in 2010, is the backup & not Orms.

Yeah, this came out of left field. I do think Orms still struggles with his sprained MCL and rumors are he has a bad wing. We shall see what unfolds in Greeley.

Gotta be injury. I have a hard time thinking they'd bench their starter from last year who has valuable game experience over two guys who haven't played much.....unless Lobato is really good.

He's a great athlete, big and strong 6foot5 and 220lbs. and a better runner than Orms. He's very fast and could do well in the new spread offense. He has a stronger arm too but lacks accuracy. He was a walk-on at Colorado but Dan Hawkins was going to move him to safety, so he transfered to UNC in 201. He played at a small high school near greeley, so he's a local kid. But I agree that it's gotta be an injury with Dylan to be demoted to 3rd string. The thing is, I've been out to practices and didn't notice his injury but Dylan has had a brace on that knee ever since he injured it.

He must be kinda slow if he's that old. He still has a few years of eligibility?BigSkyBears wrote:He's a great athlete, big and strong 6foot5 and 220lbs. and a better runner than Orms.
