The only thing I would say is I think MSU-Utah and NAU-Arizona might be slightly closer than that. But I wouldn't bet against any of those picks.

The reason I gave Arizona so many points , is because I think they are the best FBS that any BSC team will play in week 1, also I think NAU will be down this year, but who knows, NAU has been known to give thier instate foes a good game.

Hard to argue with either set of picks. It is shaping up as a tough week for the conference. Hopefully, we all can show well against those BCS teams.

That said, on can't argue very much with Ryan's picks. I just want to give a little more credit to the Sky boys, especially the Wildcats.

Superhornet - Thanks for the positive thoughts. I'd like some of whatever it is you are on also. I would love your predictions to come true. U of A lost a lot from last season and had a brutal 5 game skid to close out last season. My friend with season tickets @UofA is hopeful but not very optimistic. Never know what is possible in a game with college kids involved. If history repeats itself, NAU will play tough 2-3 quarters then the depth, size and speed of the Pac-12 wins it at the end.

WildcatRyan - I know the intra-state of Utah rivalry with all of your schools is tough but I think the Utes are the best FBS team a Big Sky team plays this season.

PSU and UNC open with wins. Weber State has the best shot at pulling off an upset over the FBS. The rest of the games....well....I just hope they keep the final score reasonably respectable and suffer no major injuries. That and not getting shanked walking around campus/downtown U of A and Tucson wearing NAU gear.

Go Jacks! Go Big Sky!

Unfortunately, the only team Weber has a shot at starting a rivalry with in the state of Utah is SUU. Well I guess not unfortunately, cause I have wanted Weber and SUU to get this rivalry thing going a long time ago.

Oregon State 35
Sacramento State 24 - Oregon State is dealing with a bunch of injuries and this is the year Sac State is suppose to step up

Washington State 42
Idaho State 17 - Washington State made a lot of strides last year but they have a long ways to go. ISU's o-line is a big question mark.

Washington Huskies 35
Eastern Washington 21 - They always give FBS schools a good fight. EWU will field a very experienced team, Huskies are breaking in new QB.

Tennessee Vols 38
Montana Grizzlies 17 - Griz defense will make the fans happy. Tennessee is returning only one starter in their front 7 and one of their start CB just got dismissed from the team. Griz offense will probably be more explosive but very inconsistent to start out the season.

Arizona Wildcats 49
Northern Arizona 21 - Lost a lot senior leadership on their defense

Wyoming Cowboys 35
Weber State 24 - Wyoming is a mess. Weber seems to give Wyoming fits when they play them.

Utah 48
MSU 17 - MSU faces probably the best Dline rotation in the nation. If the oline can't hold up this game could get ugly. Utah's secondary is fast but inexperienced so if McGhee gets some time to throw the Bobcats may put up a fight.

PSU and UNC should handle their business and lay a smackdown on their opponents.

WW: I may be nuts for calling the Montana outright win. But to say that the Griz lose THAT badly is JUST as crazy. The Griz are nowhere near the "downward spiral" that is JBB's wet dream, and the Vols were decimated in the aftermath of the abortion known as Lane Kiffin. TN may well have better talent, but it won't be 45-7 better, I can assure you. That's a score for quitters, and if there's one thing the Griz are not, it's a bunch of quitters. NOBODY in the Big Sky is a group of quitters, for that matter.

NAIA or perhaps a high school team.

Kind of.

Lindenwood is a NAIA (Heart of America Conference with Evangel) in the process of shifting to NCAA D-II (Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association). They will be D-I in girls ice hockey. The school is apparently well-known in NAIA circles for success in footbal and girls hockey.

Apparently, the school is big enough to have opened a second campus in Belleville.

Yes, they are good. I actually think the Bears lose this game. Lindenwood has some incredible athletes. They scored 90 points in a game last year.

In that case, I'll have to amend my score.
