Normally I would say our QB since EWU has always had a high-caliber passer under center, but I think both Vitto and Gauthier are both very capable backups, and we have a lot of big, talented WRs for them to throw to.

I would go with our DT Renard Williams. We lost the other starter Tyler Jolley to graduation this year (and UW transfer Pulu isn't eligible), so if he goes down, our pressure up the middle is going to drop dramatically, which is only going to make it harder for our DEs and therefore our secondary, giving opposing QBs more time to throw. We have to new guys at CB this year, so I think losing #98 would be a huge loss.

Brett Moore or Derek Heyden. Neither one is one of our 3 or 4 best players, but with the depth at the other positions on the team, these are the two most important IMO.

We don't have any superstars, but we are pretty deep at most positions (for a change) and we have two QBs, both could start.

If I had to pick one I'd say Boateng, DB.

NDSU really has no individual player, just bring someone else up from the ranks. Some might say DJ McNorton, but I've seen Bison RB's get hurt and the 3rd string comes in and rushes for 100 yards in a game.

No way. It's Thomas DeMarco (QB). We run a spread offense with a lot of quick passes based on reads. He has two years of experience running this offense and the competition will be a lot tougher this year. TD is also the back-up punter so if we lose Plisco, it's not like we will lose that much in the punting game.

I think field position is gonna be the biggest factor for us being able to beat CAA opponents this year. If DeMarco goes down, I believe Wilder takes the redshirt off Heinecke. And I have enough trust in Heinecke that he could still keep ODU's offense somewhat competitive. The kid specializes in the spread offense just like DeMarco so Wilder wouldn't have to make any huge offensive adjustments. If Plisco goes down and we start giving away short fields, I'm not sure our defense is good enough to compensate.

Yeah....I would say either Matt, Zach, or Renard. Not sure we could do without any of those three Seniors.

I guess if I had to pick it would be QB Dray Joseph only because I've seen the 47% passing our previous starter (now backup) is capable of. Also Joseph led the Jags to both their victories.

I would give up 5-10 yards per punt average to have an experienced QB that handles 100% of the offensive snaps.

I think the obvious answer would be Mike Brown for Liberty...

However, I'd argue that it's going to be Asa Champan. Big, strong DT who has a lot to prove to increase his NFL draft stock, and has a big role as the center of a defense that doesn't seem to know what it wants. Is it a 3-4? a 4-3? a 4-2-5? a 3-3-5? No matter what the formation, Asa's job is simple, take up 2 blockers, push the point of attack, get in the QB's face, prevent the run game from getting easy runs up the middle. If he can do all that, LU's secondary can take care of the rest.

+1 It really showed last year that as Demarco goes, so does the ODU offense. Plus do you really see Punters getting hurt very often? Not really.

With Crawford being out for the season, you ODU guys should be praying that Harper or Goodwyn can last the season. The CAA ain't a fun place to be without a running game. Believe that!

Before Crawford getting hurt we were really talented at the RB position with him plus Harper, Goodwyn, and Lee but some more news in addition to Crawford's injury inlcudes Lee sitting out the year as well so now we're really only down to 2 real runningbacks. This is exactly what I was worried about during the offseason...have a lot of talent at the position but not much depth either. I have a feeling we'll primarily be a passing team this year since thankfully we're pretty talented and have depth at the WR position.
