Last night was a big booster type event in Des Moines for the UNI athletic department. I've heard from a couple people that were there, as well as now seeing it on PantherNation, some news that sounds similar from all the sources.
During the event apparently Coach Farley said that starting QB Tirrell Rennie's brother was shot and killed in Florida at some point during the last couple days. Rennie has chosen to remain with the team for now and practice, but will be headed home to Florida over the weekend to attend the funeral.
It sounds as though this has brought the team together a little more. Hopefully Rennie will be able to cope with his brothers death and not let it affect him as a person, outside of football. I hope it doesn't affect him on the field either, but at a time like this I wouldn't blame him if his mind isn't 100% football right now.

My prayers for him...that has to be a tough thing to have on your mind with only a week until the season opener
