here is another site about the, now 18, negatives pitted against Gov Perry that are all refuted by a blogger who has cross referenced sources and other comments from websites that first reported these negatives to Gov Perry.

It is a really long, but worth it type of read if you are on the fence about Gov Perry. It is a pretty unbiased article in comparison to others that are out there.

He has results and a lot of political experience to back him up...unlike someone else that is currently president when he was running. Doesn't stand a chance for nomination or winning general election you say? Even as he railed against the Recovery Act, Texas Gov. Rick Perry used the government's stimulus plan to cover 97 percent of the state's budget deficit in 2009:

Turns out Texas was the state that depended the most on those very stimulus funds to plug nearly 97% of its shortfall for fiscal 2010, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures.

Texas, which crafts a budget every two years, was facing a $6.6 billion shortfall for its 2010-2011 fiscal years. It plugged nearly all of that deficit with $6.4 billion in Recovery Act money, allowing it to leave its $9.1 billion rainy day fund untouched.

"Stimulus was very helpful in getting them through the last few years," said Brian Sigritz, director of state fiscal studies for the National Association of State Budget Officers, said of Texas.

Perry is just a texan version of Obama when it comes to the role of government. He nearly doubled government spending and the state's debt, texas' debt to gdp ratio of 18.5% more closely resembles states like california and new jersey than traditional red states. Also, he wants to rewrite our constitution to fit his agenda. Sounds like a real limited government guy to me.
