Big Sky Standings Prediction Thread
Re: Big Sky Standings Prediction Thread
Anyone that wants to put money on Montana finishing no better the fourth in the BSC is either an idiot or has no connection to what happens in the BSC. Check the probability for yourself.

I never said they couldn't finish better than 4th. I think they're between 3rd and 4th, with an outside shot at 2nd.kemajic wrote:Anyone that wants to put money on Montana finishing no better the fourth in the BSC is either an idiot or has no connection to what happens in the BSC. Say what you want, but we do have some young talent. We're going to throw the ball 60% of the time, so they'll need to step up. Add a CU drop down (their #2 running back) and a 3 Star drop down LB from K-State and we will be fine. We added these two just recently so they'll need to catch up. I'm sorry, but Collins is NOT rebuilding in Greeley. We have talent. Here's info on our recent additions.cats2506 wrote:well hell, if thats the case, we are triple stackedBigSkyBears wrote:

I think you mean "#2" running back. He apparently entered last fall as the backup, but then only played in one game & had no carries.BigSkyBears wrote:

Pinning your team's hopes on a running back with 0 career carries and a linebacker with a whopping 1 career tackle seems a bit desperate.

Well he did ok against two CAA pass rushes and an NFL one from the Dakota's. But I have no issue with predicting DM first at this point.Mvemjsunpx wrote:You know as well as I do that Mitchell wasn't that good the whole season. Something doesn't compute here.
I don't see any reason to put Mitchell ahead of McGhee. McGhee probably doesn't have much room to improve, but that isn't necessary for him to be a top-tier QB for four years. I don't believe he'll be a one-year wonder like Cameron Higgins or Michael Herrick. I don't know if McGhee is more talented than BLM, but he has shown a bit more efficiency & consistency.

That's why I wrote #2 running back and Bumpas had one tackle because he left K-State in Oct. He had some legal issues and now he's back in Colorado. I'm not pinning my hopes on any of these guys, I just think they'll add to our talent. Pick which ever order you want for your pre-season polls, they mean nothing.

Of course you're not rebuilding. You can't rebuild something that was never built. You Bears fans make me laugh.

Thanks for the correction. I wrote that kinda late last night. Everyone makes mistakes, include those who choose to be Weber fans. Thanks again.WeberAlum02 wrote:BigSkyBears wrote:

How is the Cats running game going to be this year with the loss of Davis?

1) MSU
2) the rest

Kirk, Robinson, Palmer then when you are tired tackling these guys we will put in Johnson to fly by you, better run game than last yeargrizcountry420 wrote:How is the Cats running game going to be this year with the loss of Davis?
Oh yeah, sloan is having a good camp too
Re: Big Sky Standings Prediction Thread
The Bobcat running game will probably be more methodical than last year ie 2009. We will be much more physical this year and resemble closer what Weber throws at people. Our offensive line is kind of in flux on who will start. We are still trying to get some of our starting guards back from injury from last year. Worst case scenario we field basically the same offensive line that we did when we faced EWU last year(we were running 2-3 deep on our oline rotation that game).
Where we will probably drop off is that O. Davis could turn a 5 yard loss into a 2-3 yard gain pretty consistently. I don't know if we will have that this year.

It obviously won't be the same without him, but I think between Nguyen, Canada and Kemp, we'll be able to put a pretty decent rushing attack together.Screamin_Eagle174 wrote:Not that I'm defending the kittens, but I'd imagine it's going to be on par with the Griz Run game sans Chase...grizcountry420 wrote:How is the Cats running game going to be this year with the loss of Davis?

Won't need 'em...do you have your excuses ready yet. Oops, after all these years, I'm sure they come natural.

Yeah, okay. I really couldn't care less what your predictions are (nor does picking your own team to win necessarily make you a homer), as long as you back them up. EWU and MSU are definitely the front runners to me at this point, but that doesn't mean UM is out of it before the season even starts.

Both of those CAA teams were in the bottom 30% in sacks (Delaware would have been 9th. in the Big Sky). Just because they have "CAA" on their jerseys doesn't mean they're good at everything.kalm wrote: Well he did ok against two CAA pass rushes and an NFL one from the Dakota's. And I dispute that Mitchell played well against NDSU. He did OK at the end, but still had a low 96.1 efficiency rating for the game.
Mitchell is a solid QB, but he has to shore up a lot of things to be a great one.
