Building infrastructure is one of the FEW things that gummint SHOULD do.

Creating jobs... not so much. (If you mean finding places to build un-needed roads and bridges just to keep people working). Creating jobs by not doing anything, i.e: staying out of the way.... that's not socialism.

Add defense to the mix, and I'd say that's about all govt should be doing. That's it.
