So the London police wanted to arrest someone who kicking the ass of one of the rioters? Heck, the guy should have been commended. Sounds like the people in this neighborhood took care of the rioters on their own.

NOpe. It won't happen. Many Americans are lazy and disinterested. They'll bitch and moan on facebook, CS.com and at BBQ's, but when it comes to taking action, the majority won't do a thing. A revolution of some sort is needed, however this country is so polarized that either nothing will come of it, it'll be too polarized itself (Tea Party ) or it will fizzle out in an election cycle. It's sad...

not so sure Mark, have you checked out the stats concerning shifting of wealth lately, and more notably the deepening poverty of blacks in this country? I think what you see in London we will see in our major cities shortly. And if it spreads out of the cities into the rural country, we will have the start of a revolution.

And again, Americans are armed to the teeth, Londoners not so much.

LONDON – Residents surveyed shattered streets and police vowed a wave of arrests Monday after riots and looting erupted in an impoverished London neighborhood and hopscotched across the city that hosts next summer's Olympic Games.

The unrest was sparked by a police shooting, but some blamed unemployment, insensitive policing and opportunistic looting for the worst violence the city has seen in years. Police and politicians insisted the disorder was the work of a criminal minority and not a sign of social tensions or security lapses ahead of the 2012 Games.

Twenty-six police officers were injured Sunday during riots in the Tottenham area of London, after a demonstration against the death of a local man turned violent and cars and shops were set ablaze.

In the hardest-hit area, Tottenham, many residents agreed that the looting was the work of greedy youths, aided by instant communication through SMS texts and instant messaging.
