(Reuters) - Wisconsin State Fair officials announced heightened security on Friday, a day after fighting erupted on the fair midway and attacks on police officers resulted in multiple arrests.

"Certain individuals and groups of youths chose to disrupt the evening activities," Wisconsin State Fair CEO Rick Frenette said.

Fighting between groups of youths on the midway on Thursday night led to 24 arrests, and seven police officers were wounded, fair officials said. Most of the wounds to police were cuts and bruises, but two officers were hospitalized from blows to the head.

Starting on Friday at 5 p.m., youths under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian aged 21 or over, Frenette said.

Wisconsin State Police was working with State Fair police and police from West Allis, a suburb of Milwaukee, to ensure order, fair officials said.

They said the youths involved in the fighting appeared to be at the fair to hang out and cause trouble, rather than to go on rides and participate in other fair activities.

Witnesses interviewed on local television said the youths also targeted bystanders waiting in traffic or walking outside the park. Citing Milwaukee police, fair spokeswoman Patrice Harris said four people were hurt outside of the fair grounds.

The fair runs until August 14.

On that other thread on the Norway shooting spree when I pointed out a statistical correlation between state demographics and murder rates, and that it showed a much stronger correlation than state median per capita GDP, kalm insisted race had nothing to do with it.

Well, if race has nothing to do with it, what is it? In addition to what I've listed you can looked up numerous links on the web that show video of these youth (usually black) flash mobs hitting these city stores, in and out in a minute or 2, taking what they want & vandalizing these businesses as the clerks are powerless to stop it. You don't see flash mobs made up entirely of hundreds of white youths going around attacking dozens of black folks. If you did, you know the lamestream media would have it front page news and on the front page of almost every major paper in the country.

And how come our great leader hasn't commented on these incidents around Memorial Day or the one this past weekend in Milwaukee? A white Cambridge cop has a bogus charge of racism leveled against him in his dealing with a black Harvard professor and Obama at a press conference without knowing any of the facts says the "Police acted stupidly, then hold a "Beer Summit". Hundreds of black youths go on the rampage attacking dozens of whites at a state fair and nary a peep from Obama.

Well, I think the big deal is more the media response (or lack thereof) than the incident itself. It's the obvious "double standard" thing. If a White mob had attacked Black people it would've been huge news. You wouldn't have been able to miss it. It'd have been the top story and discussion of it would've persisted for days if not weeks. Probably some politics would've been worked in as well. Maybe there would've been an attempt to tie it to the Tea Party or Rush Limbaugh or something.

But Blacks tend to get a pass; at least in terms of the way the media and the intelligentia respond to their indiscretions. Either nothing is made of it or excuses are made for it. It's the standard thing.

I poked a couple holes in you theory is all. If memory serves, I think I suggested it might have more to do with economics than race. But go ahead and believe and comprehend what you want to.
